  1. Most places would not stock such a short extension cord. However, I've seen them being sold at Tampines Mall MJ. You've got to look at the section that sells earbuds, replacement foam covers etc..
  2. I see.. In that case, you should be able to get simple and cheap 0.5m extension cords at places like Sembawang Music or Music Junction. I won't have time till May to take up any diy jobs.
  3. What earphones are you using? Not all of them can be dismantled to replace the cable. In some instance, you might wish to cut the original and re-terminate it. I reckon you're using in-canal earbuds like the Sony EX-51/ 71's.
  4. Minor bug which was around since the shift to Invision: Selecting 'Main' from the drop list doesn't direct the browser to the Main forums page. Hopefully, with your expertise, this minor issue could be resolved. Anyway, many thanks for helping to host the forums. Was actually contemplating buying a large HDD and asking Adrian if I could archive the entire board and save the posts (there are many useful threads). Maybe someday I'll treat ya to a drink.. Munchy Monkeys? LOL..
  5. I saw the shop the other day when I went down to the area. Alas, it was not open. I was extremely interested in aqquiring the MAM-A CDR media (Mitsui Gold Archival Grade media) if it's available for a reasonable price.
  6. My sentiments exactly... i wouldnt mind vr-zone.. the people there are pretty alright but they are not too specific about headphones. I would not mind forking out some small change monthly to keep this place running. Alright.. If you guys really want to shift to VR-Zone (most likely a sub-forums though), I can speak to the management and administrators there personally.
  7. OMGWTF! No.. Any other site except HWZ...
  8. Yes, you can and should. IMO, the 2227's are better sounding than the 2132/ 2134/ 2604's.

Perhaps mychew can teach us the ropes..
  10. It's been a great journey with many a fella on the forums as well... Pity that we would have to come to this though.. I wish I could afford the time for this but uni's sapping my time too.. sigh..

    DIY-ed cables

He is correct. For the American Wire Gauge, the higher the number, the thinner the conductor.
  12. Very interested in Item 2. Will inform you again when I am financially able to take it.
  13. Always audition before you buy something. Especially when it's not cheap. That's what I always do.. Except unless it's a strong recommendation from Rameish. But that's only because both of us share extremely similar taste.
  14. Is there any reason behind it? When burning-in significantly louder than your normal listening volumes, you may get issues like the drivers of the headphones loosening too much.. Since you're really just trying to get the oils to uniformly coat the coils and for the coils to move comfortably at your listening volumes. If you've the time, try going from slightly softer -> listening volume -> slightly louder. Reducing the amount of time spent each time.

    pocket headamp

For those who can't read chinese, he states that all resistors were soldered under the board to reduce any interference. From what I can see, it looks to be a simple buffered cmoy type design.

An absolutely lovely deal.. Considering the the headphones retail at more than S$1,200 and S$1,000 was spent on the amplifier unit itself. We're looking at an immense discount for both units. And throughout the period which I've known av98m, I can safely say that both headphones and amp are definitely going to be in mint condition.
  17. Not much math work for engineer officer.. Trust me on that.. Most of the officers when I was still serving NSF were pricks without much knowledge.. Idiots who'd promise their platoon that they'd teach them how to use a GPS unit when they've no freakin' clue as to how to operate one.. Afterwhich they'd come around to my platoon (recce) and ask us how to operate it.. Jeez.. If we're nice, we'll help them.. Otherwise, we'll tell them that we navigate by maps and compasses (which we do)..
  18. Not really... If you're a regular customer, you do get some priviledges like buying on credit.. When the boss (I think he's the husband) is in, you can't really get much discounts unless he's out of earshot..
  19. Sorry guys... I haven't really logged in in months and was pretty much flooded by PM's when I did.. I don't think I'd be able to build amps for the time being.. As it is, I'm having Uni. term tests starting today.. I'll post updates when I've the time.. For now, I've a naked XP-7 built.. Just need to add batteries and input/ output jacks.. When I'm sure that it's sonically capable, I'd update this thread.. Don't wanna sell anything that can't perform..
  20. From Kex in Clubsnap? Heh... Friendly guy, yea..
