  1. More from Botanical Gardens~! A Kingfisher.. Blue Throated Kingfisher, IIRC..
  2. Go buy a FM2n or FM3A then... Just note that your D70 kit lense cannot be used on film bodies..
  3. A really tiny dragonfly.. This bugger was about 12mm long at most... Not sure what this is.. Guessing it's a grasshopper or cicada of sorts..
  4. Some shots from Botanical Gardens yesterday...
  5. The Zeiss Ikon/ Contax 135mm/ 2.8 Sonnar is not particularly impressive. The Zeiss Sonnar 135mm/ 3.5 has much much better bokeh.. Most people who like bokeh will take the Sonnar 135/ 3.5 over the Contax, Leica & Canon L 135mm lenses.. If you want absolute sharpness, go for a Leica R Asph.
  6. Try scanning the original film if possible.. Use Imageshack to host your pictures and hotlink from there.
  7. Nice catch there! Wow... Sonnar 135/ 2.8.... Quite a pricey lense.. I did see one going for $360 at TCW but unsure of the condition..
  8. I spotted a small family of birds under the cover of the trees...
  9. Realised that for quite some time, a few of us have been posting film shots in the Digital Camera thread. So here's for those who have been & still are shooting on film and those who've gone back to film.... A little contribution:
  10. 17-35/ 2.8 Nikkor?? LOL... The Holy Trinity that will incinerate not just the wallet but the bank vault as well.... Yea, the Canon EOS mount has greater compatibility with lenses from other manufacturers due to the shorter flange distance.. The 21mm Distagon costs a bomb though..
  11. You can choose to diy OR pay someone to diy for you.. Judging from experience, most locals are not willing to pay for service... Hence, you'll find almost no DIYFS'ers locally.
  12. On the contary, the Grado RA-1 does have great synergy with high-impedance headphones like the Sennheiser HD600's. It also sounds good with other headphones like the Beyer's.. The normal version has more than enough gain to drive high impedance cans to ear-spliting volumes.. Trust me, if the normal version can't drive your cans to loud enough volumes even if you crank it to 1 o'clock, you definitely need to: a) Remove those earplugs you're wearing See an ENT specialist
  13. Sure... I guess I caught A.I. with the right person.. Hehe.. Made me understand how important it is to bring tissue paper out... And ladies: Please take some effort to squeeze a tiny weeny pack of tissue into your oversized handbags that just hold a wallet and handphone inside... Thanks.. LOL
  14. Recommended? In no particular order, Sixth Sense, A.I., LOTR, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, My Sassy Girl
  15. A good match for Grado's and many other headphones.. In fact, it's got great synergy with the Sennheiser HD600's too..
  16. Or any variants based on the same chip...
  17. Yes, the Nikkor 105mm AI(S) is a f2.5 lense.. Know an ex-owner of the lense.. He sold it to another person whom I know online.. LOL.. Coincidentally, both live within 5 min walk from my place. The former runs the Kodak minilab/ studio near my place and the person who bought the lense is also his customer.. LOL...
  18. Hehehe.. I've just 'upgraded' from my Praktica MTL-50 to a Canon EOS A2 (known as EOS 5 outside of US).. But still using my Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm/ 2.4 Flektogon and 135mm/ 3.5 Sonnar lenses with adaptors.. Same operating principle as a manual body except I now have a brighter viewfinder and spot metering function.
  19. LHS at Sim Lim Tower has all the parts you need. Wattgate (Marinco) IEC's & US plugs, MK hospital grade UK plugs and Schurter IEC's.
  20. Something which I think several members have been looking forward to.. Guess what this is... Still have a couple of wires to solder to the board.. Hence, the groundplane isn't fitted as yet.. As usual, it's a point to point work using a FR4 protoboard as a breadboard and with a groundplane.
  21. Damn it.. Even my water bottle seems to be missing...
  22. Actually, those in your CDP are from Welborne labs. But for all intents and purposes, they're the same as the Netaudio units. You just reminded me.. I need to buy more sockets.. Much of my little stash seems to have done a David Copperfield.
