  1. I'm currently clearing leave and off and will be relatively free.. Aside from building a clock or two, I've not much diy work. I still have quite an inventory and have enough cases to build a few amps. I'm now asking if anyone's interested in something like an RA-1 or XP7 or other amps of my own design? Have Holcos & Vishay Dales and caps to build both.. Not to mention several cases.. I need to clear space before my mum nags again.. LOL..
  2. There were only 2 customers in there when I went over.. Unless you look 40+, I don't think I saw you..
  3. Maybe you saw me.. Maybe you didn't.. LOL.. I was there while Frankie was hand matching EL34 tubes..
  4. Hrmm.. Was it the guy with a moustache? I was there around 5pm..
  5. Zenn Audio is at Simpang Bedok. Go to: www.zenn.com.sg for more details. Oh! Frankie is a nice guy.. He's just a grouchy old man if you catch him at the wrong times.. Like maybe just after he has dealt with a very difficult customer.. LOL.. I've seen both sides of him.. Thankfully, more of the friendly side..
  6. No, not just the foam covers. See the Velvet pads at the corner? Those too.. It comes as a set, 1 pair of Velvet cushiony pads and a pair of foam covers. Very slightly cheaper solution is to buy the leather pads set for the HD270/ EH2270 headphones. But the savings is only $10 and the leather pads get awfully warm after a short while.
  7. If that's the case, try Zenn Audio instead.. Gabriel's a pretty nice fellow and can probably troubleshoot for you and then give you a quote for any repairs needed.
  8. If your headphones are about 2 years or older, it's time you look at the pads. The foam covering the drivers on both my HD270 and HD570 have disintegrated.. The pads w/ foam have been changed about 2 years back and they aren't cheap either. I paid about ~S$170 for each pair of headphones and the replacement pads cost S$40 per set. That's to say, I've just paid 50% of the headphone's cost just to replace the pads twice in the 3 years I've had them. Note also that I've barely used the headphones in these 2 years since the replacement of the pads as I've bought the DT-931's. Picture of very well disintegrated foam:
  9. FYI, it's not a digital amp. =)

A play on the Walt Jung Super-regulator circuit.. I actually have a dual-rail version of it built on protoboard.. Never got around to testing it because I didn't bother to get the opamps for it.. LOL
  11. then just be careful la....have sent mine back to them today, cost me S$50 for the EMS fee (supposed to be arrived in 2-4 days) S$50 for shipping it back? Did you choose to send it in a parcel instead of padded envelope? I think you can get a small parcel sent via FedEx for that price..
  12. Not again...... I've been using this handle since 1997. That's before there was a Mosaic, which is before there was Netscape, which is before there was Mozilla. And no, it's got more to it than just Fire and fox put together.. Then again, the origins of my handle is probably older than you.. red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox red_ryder Firefox
  13. Go to Mozilla's website. Search the Extensions for "Tweak Network". That's a graphical interface for this tweak. I've been using it since Firefox 0.9..
  14. Yes, they're bringing it into Sg.. Saw the trailer when I was watching Constantine with av98m.. Guess he forgot about the trailer.. LOL...
  15. kenshinz: You should be able to get it from Cathay..

It depends on which opamp you use and your listening levels. If you have moderately low listening levels and use opamps like the OPA213x or OPA2227, I'd say you can expect about 6 hours of battery life from a 170mAH 9v battery. This is calculated with a 7.5mA quiscent current draw per dual-opamp and a 3mA output per channel. Also, taken with 90% capacity for the 9v battery since NiCD batteries have a self-discharge of 10% in the first day and it's about 50% more for NiMH.
  17. It's probably the Brunei side ISP.. Mat hasn't been logging onto IRC either..
  18. You don't run the flame over them. You move the cable to and fro about 1cm - 2cm above the flame.. For cigar lighters/ pocket torches, increase the distance about 2cm - 3cm. You can also use the oven stove.. Place the heatshrink portion about 10cm above the flames.
  19. Get an Optech Strap from Cathay Photo. It's less than $30.
  20. Hrmm... FE2.. Seems like a very nice camera.. Although I'm not particularly fond of the Nikon F-mount..
  21. If your 28 - 70 lense is a f2.8 unit from Nikon, Tamron or Sigma, you should be able to go without the 50mm prime. Might be better if you have a wide angle prime (<28mm since 1.5x FoV) for landscape shots instead..
  22. Hehehe.... Just aggaration... Like I said, I was shooting in the dark figuratively as well.. Exposure times were anywhere from 5s to 30+s. Apertures from F4 to F22. Shots were done on Konica Minolta Centuria 200 if that helps.. av98m was shooting Fujifilm Superia 400. Edit: The star effect is also affected by the lense.. You'd note that both av98m's and andri's pictures have the same kind of starry effect. Guess that's a Nikkor lense signature.. LOL.. I was shooting using East German optics.. Different effect..
  23. A few shots in the dark.. LOL.. Literally and figuratively speaking..
  24. That's a Misumenops nepenthicola.. But most of the time, you'd just call it a Crab Spider.. LOL.. It's under the Thomisdae family of spiders. Aye.... Redbacks are very close relatives of the Black-widow.. They even have the hour-glass under their backs as well. It seems no deaths have occurred from the bites of a Redback so far..
