  1. i tried to search about some of this info but found nothing. Or the search result was too many to handle (from head-fi) so please help me answer them if you can yes.gif

    1. whats the size of grado driver? 40mm? 50mm? they are the same size from sr60 to rs1 right?

    2. can we change the original cable since its too thick and im using it for portables. its tad long as well (2m). im using cable tie now to roll it in to a coil and put it in my pocket.

it believe its possible but is it worth the hassle? voiding warranty, risky?

    3. is there any suggestion about a portable case to put the can in my bag. for example the leather bag for beyers. the original packaging is just a big clumsy paper box.

    thanks headphone.gif

  2. Budget $100-120. Looking for those with full package and preferably still has valid warranty. Its also good if its come with the senn 414 pad replacement. Please put the information above and the usage pattern + condition here or through PM. Thanks headphone.gif

  3. For me, it beats any other 5.1 multimedia PC speaker even price

above S$200. This is the best value for money 5.1 multimedia PC.

i beg to differ. i heard the 2.1 version (my ex roommate has it) of it and i believe the 5.1 or 4.1 will sound similar.

i think they sound downright awful no.gif .

A creative cambridge FPS2000 will stomp it flat in every aspect except the price (used to sell for ~$150). but you can get it about 50-80 2nd hand. Its out of production long time ago and i think your philips is no diff (seen it since 4 years ago).

just my 2c, dont take it too seriously, if you love it, then good for you!! happy.gif

  4. eeeeeee..... $250 so ex ohmy.gif..... i wish i could afford that.

but, it looks very nice and neat and classy from my POV (read: a n00b) biggrin.gif

bram, can help me build a simple (max $100) amp for me? laugh.gif

OT: now its confirmed ur an indonesian as well, have been noticing ur nick and it sounds very indonesian tongue.gif

  5. looking for either one of these. please state the condition, age, warranty or anything related to the item.

    Please PM your offer yes.gif

as far as i know the new price of sr80 is about ~$170

7506 is a little bit tricky, used to sell $125 at mustafa? and someone mentioned currently selling around 160 at hung bros.

ATH-A500 also mentioned selling for $160

if anyone know any cheaper price than these brand new, please pm me kicking.gif

  6. hi N@Z thanks for the reply

how about dt880 with the diy amp on a non dedicated source/mp3/gaming phone/computer ? still overkill?

just checked back on the pricelist sticky.. the 7506 is selling for $195 and the stock of $125 at mustafa is no more ohmy.gif . Any place selling lower?

is grado sr80 really that uncomfortable for like 2-4 hours even with senn 414 pad replacement on? coz i think its easier to get a 2nd hand grado than a 7506 right tongue.gif

  7. Hi (ablaze ask people to say hi tongue.gif)

i am practically new to audio and headphones. Willing to know and experience more but have little $$$ to back it up haha...

I started to have interest in headphone when i was reading about torchlights and other things at dansdat. Then through a few hyperlinks, i stumbled upon another review in the same site that reviewed dt880 here. And he present an analogy of headphone to speakers as motorcycles to cars.

he said: for the price of basic family sedan, you can purchase a super cycle that can out accelerate almost any street legal cars and a lot of racing cars biggrin.gif haha...

since then, i try to source for a good and affordable headphone for my usage. I tried to post in hwz (my favourite forum) and the people there recommend me to go here. and here i am happy.gif

okay, lets go into my situation.

i need a recommendation of a headphone. my usage pattern for headphone will be wide accross music, movie and gaming. Duration is long (2 hours at least to 6 hours, average 4 hours). Because of that i think i'll better off with a full sized circumaural headphone, umm... am i right?

the mp3s are coded at 128-192kbps.

It will be connected to my Audigy X-Gamer soundcard

After a few part timing job, I have about $100-150 spare budget for a headphone. I dont mind 2nd hand stuff at all... I've been buying and selling for hundred times in hwz anyway..

few hours after browsing the forum, i found a few models that may fit my price range:

    philips hp890

    sony mdr-7506 / v6

    sony mdr-d66sl

    grado sr80

    audio technica ath a-500

    sennheiser hd280

    sennheiser hd200

some of them are higher than the budget but im prepared to go higher if necessary and if im lucky i may get them within the budget with a 2nd hand stuff.

I put in the sr80 since so many people here recommend it and it has a very good review all over the world altough its a supraaural can. Will it be uncomfortable for a 2-4 hours of listening?

so please recommend me on which hp should i go and why. or maybe you have any of them for sale for me, please let me know tongue.gif

im sorry for the lengthy first post and thank you in advance kicking.gif
