  1. Burn in the can more.....

    Try to move the can back abit from your head....position it back of the ear rather than the front of the ear. Its just a small move.U'd have to find that right spot when u feel the headache...

    Thats wad i'll do...

    sometimes its just the head not used to the clamping feeling of the cans

  2. hi guys

    opa2134 - lm6171 = no distortion....but occil abit then fades off...the sound continues nicely

    opa2134 + lm6171 = distortion

    opa2228 - lm6171 = distortion

    opa2228 left side = ok

    opa2228 right side = ok

    opa2228 + lm6171 = distortion

    opa2228 left side + lm6171= ok

    opa2228 right side + lm6171 = ok

    will double check the soldering tomorrow..sigh

  3. Finish off the cmoy2 but getting problem with oscillation.

    Reading the thread i've found that starushz and alvin 2038 also having the same problem.

    I'm using opa2228 also. ordered opa2134 to test whether its the ic thats having the prob.

    Funny thing is unless i on off/plug out HP, the cmoy2 sounds great. Put it back and i'll get hissing, occillation and a bunch of other noise

  4. Ok, change them back to the original and short the 2 input cap. That should give no bass roll-off.

    i've put it back to gain 6 and after awhile realised what was the prob.

    the cable attached to the croc clips were loose with only a few strand attached.wondered why it didn't come off completely.anyway its in the hammond box already until i reliased that the i/o stereo conn is to big for the box.so i'll have to wait till weekend for a trip to slt.

  5. Got mine up to go on the first try!!

    But there's too much bass...roll off the cliff

    soundstage sounds narrow

    resistor i change the value abit

    10 = r1/r5

    100k = r2/r6

    20k = r3/r7

    20k = r4/r8

    20k = r9/r10

    are these the problems?

    anyway i can improve it?

    thanks

    Hi.

    You should try these value to reduce the bass rolloff.

    R1: 10

    R2: 20k

    R3: 20k

    R4: 20k

    R5: 10

    R6: 20k

    R7: 20k

    R8: 20k

    hi jason

    tried it but it sounded funny....i get weezing sound when i touch any of the resistor.the resistor is mounted on the socket so i can play around with gain and such.

    going to resolder the wires with those multi strand wires. was using the single core type and it seem to come off 1 by 1. progress abit slow though

  6. It's impossible to buy the flagship of Beyer cans ie. DT880 as SGD300.....even DT250/150/990/770 don't sell at this price.

    it was possible last week on sat, but i didn't pounce cause needed the dough for something else..display set though....just open for 3 days if im not wrong

  7. i have a lot of classical tunes at home on LP but my dads LP player broke down couple of years ago.Maybe when i get around fiddling with LP then i might have a listen to them. Right now i guess its just a phase where i prefer classical tunes.....most likely it will phase away and come back later on. So maybe a couple of CDs for easy listening and to get rid of the itch cool.gif

  8. right angle mini is actually a neutrik mini...$4.50 if im not wrong...got it from LHS

    The neutrik right angle feels solid when u plug it in...the so call gold plated straight connectors feels abit flimsy.Maybe cause the weight...

  9. Some pictures of the result
