Hi Evil -Zen. I agree with you man. I'm using Grado SR60 and the Metallica's Black album sounds fantastic. Of course, it helps when you amp it (I'm using Marantz int amp PM6010OSE). Pink Floyd's Pulse is one hell of a LIVE album. I remember few years ago, WHAT HIFI commended this album, saying that it's recorded entirely with analogue equipment!

Hi guys. I just like to follow up to the thread,'Which headphones under $100 to buy? ' which I started. I like to thank sigman, papaya86, evo, yoshiki and laomao for their informative inputs. I bought the SR60 ($120) at Music by Design yesterday and I think it's money well spent! I tried the SR60 and SR80 and find that the SR80 is more 'attacking'. But anyway. it's way off my budget. Admittedly, I did not check out the AKGs and PX200s etc but hey... SR60 rocks man! I hooked up the SR60 to my Marantz int. amp and Denon 835 cd player. Played stuff by Metallica, Opeth, Judas Priest's Painkiller (opening double pedal attack!), Primus and even Cai Qin (the song featured in Infernal Affairs...). Bass was tight, guitar solos and high hats were sweet sweet sweet... still some way before burning in. Definitely recommend SR60 to anyone!

Sr80 is probably too exp for now. So Hung Bros the place to buy? So, Papaya86, what rock bands are you into? I enjoy old rock bands like Rainbow, Led Zep to extreme metal music. Hi guys! I'm new here. It is very interesting reading various discussions on headphones and stuff. For me I'm looking for a pair that offers good value for moneythat is like, under $100 (possible?). I would be using it mostly at home with my discman. I'm wondering if PX100 is a good buy based on what I've read... I'm more into rock/ metal music. So guys, any recommendation? Thanks!
