  1. Ok, just as a point. I am by no means a audiophile, or anything like that. When I first got the package I was suprised. WOW, these are small. Somehow I had imagined them to be bigger. When I tried them on, they felt a bit tight, but not painful, and I have now been listning to them for about 1 hour non-stop and have nothing to complain about. The isolation was not quite as much as I had expected (I can still hear people speaking, myself typing etc, but this will dissapear when you put the music on). Now, about the sound. Very sterile. I understand why some people might complain about bass. But as many people before have said, it wasnt there in the first place. If you really want to see these 'phones bass potential, try playing Mr Oizo's Flat Beat. BAM. The sound is very clear, I don't think I've heard Bjork's Yoga ever so beautifully. Not sure if these phones are that good for metal/industrial/rock, it seems as the details get a bit too much to listen (perhaps EQ some more bass?). What I really enjoy is the detail, there sure is a lot of it. Sometimes it can be a bit too much, e.g. heavy rock/industrial. Another thing I really like is when there is a silent part in a song. It really is as silent as it could be. Nice. Overall I like these phones a lot, from the first try. I hope they get better after use. If anyone has any good tracks for these phones to recommend, please tell me.
  2. So, you prefer original iPod headphones, and save money instead? Anyway, what sort of music is recommended for the ER-6i's?
  3. So, what you are saying is that some headphones (even good and expensive ones) make you sick? I understand what you mean, I guess its just one of those sacrifices we make for some good music.
  4. I don't think I like the fact that headphones that cost 100$ can make you sick.
  5. I could audition if i didnt live in Thailand Anyway, thanks for the response. What type of music should I directly avoid with Ety's?
  6. How would ER-6i + PA2V2 be? Would the amp be 'worth' it? I've heard that it reduces sibilance and makes to sound warmer. How much sibilance was there to begin with? I mean, they are excellent headphones and according to the reviews a "slight amount of sibilance" has never been talked about. Even if there is a slight amount, will this be noticed by a non-audiphile? Is the upgrade worth it for a non-audiophile? Just a few questions
  7. After reading what feels like 1000 reviews and impressions of both headphones I've decided to go for the ER-6i's. I dont feel like spending all my money on headphones now, besides, I dubt I will need headphones that are THAT good (ER-4p). As a possible upgrade for later I'm concidering a PA2V2 since I've heard it makes the sound slightly warmer and provides a boost to the lows. I'll post my impressions when I get them (Wed/Thur).
  8. Thanks for the info so far. Anyone got any clue how much Er-6i and ER-4p cost at Hung bros? Also thinking about buying an iPod shuffle, anyone got any clue about the prices for it? Thanks
  9. Well, my case is the following: I have (IMO) a pair of very very good cans at home. (I dont know much about headphones, but i think MB Quart QP400 are audiphile quality) The earphones im buying mostly for travel. The MB Quart's are half-open design, so they leak sound. They are also 300 ohms per piece, so 600 ohm's alltogether. Doesent take a brainic to figure out that these are hard to drive on portable devices. I am of the opinion that I want to buy the ER-4p (since id prefer not to carry around an amp, which would be nessecary with the ER-4s). If i change my mind i can always buy the converter that changes ER-4p->4s. My problem is making my dad agree with my decision. He wants me to buy the ER-6i because its cheaper. I want to make an good argument.
  10. RonTheMan: Tell me your impressions once you get it.
  11. If I can afford it I don't really see anything else reasonable to spend my money on (although im still 17). I'll concider everything so far.
  12. I enjoy clarity more than I enjoy bass but sometimes I want there to be an edge, if you know what I mean. How would the idea of buying an ER-6i and P2V2 sound like?
  13. Oh, and also. Does the bass strength improve a lot if i got myself a portable amp, lets say the p2v2? Also, how would this version compare with the others stated so far? The price is an issue, especially concidering that a set of ER-6i + P2V2 = same price as a ER-4P.
  14. Well, I realise that. But the truth is that I do no really have anything else to compare it to. Yes, the sonys have a very muddy bass, but it seems to have impact. It is nowhere near as tight as the bass on my MB Quart cans, but that is also expected. Simply, does the bass on the ER-6i & ER-4p feel weaker than EX71's ? Also, which one is stronger (or more impactful?). Thanks
  15. Compared to sony in ear headphones, how is the bass response?
