  1. Oooh. Good idea. Never thought of that. Thanks.
  2. Ok, NS has been over for 2 weeks and my bank is now reduced to zero. I need a job badly. Could any of you suggest what jobs to do before entering uni? Oh and if any audio shop is hiring part-timers who can work long hours HIRE ME PLEASE. A part-time job in an audio store is a job worth dying for. Edit: Help this poor guy earn his SR325.
  3. That's because you don't keep it nicely. Mine's still live and kicking now, for two years already? But of course half a year after I bought it I got my SR80 so didn't really use it much. And considering the MX500 is only $35, it's really quality for money. Never tried the E888 so I can't comment. But that money can get you a Sennheiser PX100, which sucks. So best thing is go around loaning earphones to test. lol
  4. Of all the MX you left out the best MX500 dude. From personal experience MX500 has close to headphone quality audio and sometimes I can't tell the difference if not for the bass. It pwns even Sennheiser PX100 and PX200. But it's personal preference in music though. BTW regarding MX550, I've tried it before. Sounds bad. Really bad for that money. I was nearly conned into buying it by the shopkeeper who claimed 550 of course >>> 500. Gay stuff. The audio was pure sh*t. But I'm a sucker for AKG so I can't help you decide lol.
  5. And I was just saying that if a portable version of X-Fi appears I'd buy it straight. Now what do we have here? Seems like I can do a little comparison between Xmod and my PA2v2 [edit] Damn not for portable use? Screw you Creative.
  6. BTW the guy at Hung Brothers seemed very intrigued that I'm buying HD414 pads when I'm wearing a SR80 around my neck. Then he asked me who's the culprit spreading the word about HD414 pads with Grado cans thus causing quite a number of Grado users to approach them for HD414 pads. lol. Apparently he doesn't visit SGHeadphones, whereby the slogan goes "Welcome to SGH, Goodbye SGD" [edit] Bah Spelling errors.
  7. Actually my ears aren't that good to sense the difference between a 2cm hole and 2.5 cm hole. The only problem is the aesthetics(sp?). Anyway, my SR80s are super comfortable now. I'm damn happy. Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll go mad and buy the 325. I prefer Grados to Senn anytime. I love the clarity. Might give the Beyer DT770 a trial though. Haven't tested them yet.
  8. LOL If I do that then I'll have an over supply of headphone pads. I just bought new Grados SR80 pads, now the HD414. If I buy MS1 I'll go broke. Anyway here are the photos. Looks okay here: OMFG:
  9. Good news! I got the HD 414 pads! Good news! They feel superbly, ultimately comfortable! Good news! It's yellow! Funky! Bad news! I attempted the hole cute myself with a bottle cap but my knife slipped. Now the hole looks over-sized and resembles a dead cheek cell. Want see pictures of the horror?
  10. Thanks for the tip. But where's Hung Bros?
  11. I haven't had any problems with my Grado SR80 headphone paddings at all other than it's a bit uncomfortable. However, ever since I bought new SR80 paddings($15 at Music by Design), my ear started to have problems, something like rashes and stuff. Doctor told me it was allergy. But if my old SR80 paddings never gave problems, I don't see why new ones would. Has the material been changed or anything? Anyway, now I need to replace my paddings AGAIN. Any good recommendations? Or do SR80 paddings replacements exist in the first place?
  12. I don't mind looking like a dork as long as I get good music. So Beyer's good? I'll give it a try then. After I save up enough money that is.
  13. Woah this forum has a damn cool quoting system. Anyway, yes I tend to churn up my volume to dangerous levels sometimes. But sound leaking has its benefits, that is I won't get run over by a car from behind while listening to Hitomi Takahashi blaring away. IEMs? I am afraid of it being stuck inside. lol. And they are really expensive. Is there a pair of headphones out there that can produce SR80 quality sound under isolated conditions?
  14. I wanted phones smaller than my Grados SR80 but sounding better than Senn MX500. After coming here around a few months ago, I was convinced by several people here that Senn PX200 is good. I even bought the PA2v2 to go with it. I expect many dissenting voices. But I still find that it sucks. Why? The sound sounds MUFFLED. For some freakin' reason, the sound is muffled. Is it a problem that happens only to isolation cans? I do not know. The sh*tty pair of Creative noise cancelling cans I had had the same problem too. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but the music produced just doesn't sound "out" enough. bah. In fact, I find my Senn MX500 earphones sounding better than it. I left the PX200 in office after using it for a week, never to be touched again. Now I'm happily using my SR80 on the streets.
  15. I do that. In fact, out of a possible range of volumes from 1-20, my volume is set at 3 and my PA2V2 is full blast. But when I crank up PA2V2's volume too high, there's this irritating static hiss.
