  1. The 325i would be the closest in sound to the MS2i. In my experience, it sounds like a brighter version of the MS2i.

The 225 has less bass and is brighter sounding than the MS2i. It is however, not much brighter sounding than the 325i. Depending on matching equipment, the extra treble energy can be too much.

Where the 225 trounces the other two is in comfort. The plastic earcups are light and confortable and stay on the head much better than the 325i or MS2i.

Should you be thinking of getting another can, I would recommend the 225 as it provides a sound that it not so close to the MS21 sound.

As always, try them out and trust your ears.

How much is Stereo-Electronic sell the AD-900?

  2. Agreed cmk.

But this is the reply from the dealer. In fact I myself also not sure what he mean 2005 version. mellow.gif

I thought the previous version is 2003 version and the latest is 2005/6 version that we are discussing about.

Tinykhing: Just to be sure, the DT990 we are discussing is the one shown in attached picture right? rolleyes.gif Thanks.

  3. I reply e-mail from AhDU for dealer information I think he can give more information than me in english.

Got this message from Tinykhing when I email to the dealer and get some reply, I arrange a bit,

    The dealer quote :

    "DT990 8,850 baht

VAT included and prices can be bargained.

The ones in stock are still 2005 edition,

but the I think that they are not so much different."

    And Tinykhing message mentioned:

"The V2005 and 2006 is the same in Premium line.

If you are foreigner you can refund the VAT.

The price is approximately same.(in price list)

    VAT 10%

    Current is 1 US$ = 37 Bath

I think you can bargain for not add VAT.

The Dealer location is Ramkumhang University zone."

Tinykhing: you may want to add something that I could have missed.

  4. Hello everyone laugh.gif

I'm new in SG.I have get two Beyer cans(880, 990 V.06) and I very happy with 880 sound great but 990 has more bass extend and very sharp in high.In my opinion 990 is very hard to break in than 880.I'm worry about 990 sharp in high. no.gif

    In thailand the Beyer's dealer sold 880 US$. 240 but the 990 for 175 US$.(very cheap)

I have a few question about the way to burnin & breakin the 990 to the best sound it can?

Sorry my english is bad hammer.gif

    Hi,

My experience from DT880 V05 was it needed almost 200hrs to break-in. So I think the new DT990 will need almost similar amount with this the high will sound more refine without sharp edge.

  5. Want to give us a link to the forums warning about counterfeit high-end headphones? It would be an interesting read.

For those who interested to know, take a look on this website, note :

    纸盒的上侧面贴有产品条形码以及防伪标贴,刮开防伪密码上边的保护层,然后拨打16840315或010-64450315,手机短信发自3315(移动)或93315(联通)便可查询真伪。这个购买的时候一定要注意。

  6. Hope counterfeit is not an issue here as in China, as I saw some forums warn about counterfeit product such as this type of high-end headphone.

if someone is able to make counterfeit of sennheiser product, then at least they are better than phillips. biggrin.gif

imitation is mission impossible for headphone no matter how good is made in china LV bags and VCD DVD reverse engieering techology. dry.gif

In case you are not aware, you will be supprise. Counterfeit things indeed happen there even things like massage chair. Howcome? I think because of the local OEM who produce & supply partly/wholly the parts. mellow.gif

  7. actually, since someone mentioned the 595 is made in china, so i searched the chinese website. the retail price of the 595 in china is from 880 RMB (promotional price) to 1260 RMB (web price). which is from 175 to 255 SGD, i think if u bought in china with receipt in china you can still get the 2 years warranty, since Sennheiser is international warranty. why this model's price now is so good? this make me give it up and look for better one. sigh~

http://www.shbear.com/2/lib/200512/18/20051218003.htm 880 RMB but has little scratches mentioned on the web page

update: the standard retail price of 595 in china is 1200 RMB which is less than 240 SGD, if you know chinese search 森海塞尔 595 as the keyword on google

Hope counterfeit is not an issue here as in China, as I saw some forums warn about counterfeit product such as this type of high-end headphone. mellow.gif

  8. Then it's at performance-audio at SLS, a corner shop on the 2nd or 3rd floor.. I dont quite remember the exact location.

i saw the 595 in the shop....surprised dat it cost 255 as u said....so is there a catch? how come so cheap? broken seal box or wat?

    Hi,

Not sure where this HD595 is made, sleep.gif , Wonder is that made in China or Ireland mellow.gif

  9. Managed to get a DT880 (2002 version) for $299 at Anything Audio before end of last year. After run-in, for the moment connecting this directly to my integrated amp for listening. For portable amp, is PA2V2 a good match to this cans? Would it improve the bass yet without should harsh on the treble?

  10. Can anyone help. I am looking for headphone that is low in impedence so that can be driven by my MP3 or portable CD player while I am oversea. Budget <S$200. I listen to New Age, Vocal, Jazz, Classical & some pop. The Senn HD545 Ref sound airy with good soundstage but its high impedence does not go well un-amp with my portable CD player.
