  1. Hey, if any of you buy from Cattylink, and I recommend you do, please give my name (Simon Ashton) a mention. I can get a client referral bonus refund!  laugh.gif

Is that an Alps pot I see  cool.gif

    Sure can!

The Alps blue looks like its been hotrodded with a bolt on supercharger!

That's the motor for remote controlled volume. It's around $60 AUD here.

  2. I must be honest that better CGI/artwork has never been the reason why I watch anime. It's the story/plot that keeps me going. I know some people from ETG that are very attentive to graphics. smile.gif

Also even if these are not the remastered version, well I got these for free. It's hard to complain.

  3. These nge are... I got no idea. It looks okay to me. as I said, someone rips the vobs and copies them to my 80gb HDD. so once in awhile I got a windfall (in anime goodness) when I received the HDD back. smile.gif

If anybody needs some new stuff, just pm me. I can get it from mircx's special dump and other dumps. Don't do it too often though. smile.gif

  4. Jarthel,

Search for compact disc dealers in www.yellowpages.com.sg. Seek Sembawang Music Centre Pte Ltd and U should see a list of its outlets and addresses. I tried to copy it onto this post but to no avail.

Alternatively, try Gramaphone at Capital Building. The shop is diagonally opposite City Hall Shopping Cente and directly opposite a church compound.

I typed "Sembawang Music Centre Pte Ltd" and "Sembawang Music" in "company name" I get only 1 result.

    --------------

are the jpop CDs from Sembawang and CD-rama fake? Someone who has visited Singapore said that I can easily find them in Singapore.

    Thanks for the replies.

  5. I think almost all the cd shops have them(eg Music Junction, cd-rama, Sembawang)

Biggest collection of J-pop cds: HMV(Heeren) but then be prepared to pay about 40-50 dollars per full album. They are Japanese imported cds hence the high price. For singles, maybe $18-20?

Otherwise I would suggest going to sembawang cd shops. They have a few branch but unfortunately I am only familiar at the sembawang(orchard mrt) hehhee.... biggrin.gif

Also do check out the cd-rama just next to it.

Gramaphone at near city hall mrt does carry some j-pop cds as well.

so sembawang and cd-rama is in orchard mart?

  6. Pics are in my sig. It's a DIY amp made to specs according to the headwize article.

I made my own PCB for it. Resistors, transistors and LEDs are matched. Using TKD pot for volume control. Vishay Dales RN60 for all resistors. Ground breaker circuit (http://sound.westhost.com/earthing.htm) used for safety and it greatly helps with hum as well.

I want $300 USD for it + postage + Paypal fees. Postage is approximately $28 USD to Singapore.

I'm selling as I have made a Morgan Jones amp and have decided to use that as my main amp.

    Thanks for the reply.

  7. Several questions to people who have bought anime DVDs from HK:

    1. any particular place in HK where they sell the anime DVDs?

    2. Also, how much are the DVDs in HK? especially for sets. In Ebay, I usually see $19 USD for a series that has 26 episodes.

    3. Also in Ebay, I see alot of anime DVDs that has english audio in it. How do these compare to R1 DVDs? I assumed that these must be replicas of R1 DVDs (save money from translating the series and the english dubbing of course).

    Thanks for the replies.

ps. English subtitles for series that has been translated using Chinese translators (i.e. not replicas of R1) are horrible. Grammar and spelling errors through out. If it's replicas of R1 then I wouldn't see the kinds of errors I see in HK DVDs (jap audio only, english and chinese subtitles).
