Taking the DT880 to be the base standard, and A900 as comparison, I'd say that the A900 has more bass and perhaps equavalent treble (its been a while since I last tried the DT880, newer version), but its mids will be slightly recessed as compared to the DT880.

I like the A900 a lot, but if I has the cash, proper power source and such and were to choose betweem the A900 and DT880, I'd pick the DT880.

Never tried the AD before, so I can't help ya there. Audition first before making the decision ya?

X5L is an alternate version of the X5, same looks, but thicker because of extra battery power, and runs for 30-35 hours.

I saw it in person before, its still quite small IMO though not as sleek as the iPod w/ Video (5G).

However, its quite expensive, going for $510 w/o GST.

A great thing is that it is UMS, so it does not require any special program to transfer files onto it. You can simply drag and drop.

Its got a pretty powerful headphone out, and goes plenty loud as well.

Ever considered the iAudio X5L (35hour run time, great sound quality) or the iPod w/ video 30 GB?

H10 can be rather unstable I heard, but has good SQ depending on the firmware used.

H10Jr is either coming out or is out already, which are flash based versions of the H10.

Good and cheap? What's your budget and needed space?

iPods in general aren't good players from the heaphone out due to their famous bass rolloff, though its a different story with the lineout, the 5G iPod and the iPod Shuffle

For simplicity at best, I wou;d go the way of the iPod Shuffle

PSP has a weak headphone out howeer, a few crazy people over at head-fi used 2 amplifiers to go along with it (I think it was Mr Bangraman who first did this?) to power a decent set of cans... But I guess the CX300 should be no problem
