    He said next 'wave' ;)

Anyways, I managed to gather more news:

From what I can gather, this is the CK9 specs so far (in case anyone's interested):

    Sensitivity: 104dB/mW

Max input power: 3mW <- I think this is a typo

    Impedance: 30 Ohms

    Driver type: Balanced Armature

    Cord Length: 1.5m

    Pricing: 22050 Yen (Interesting number... 22050Hz X 2 = 44100Hz sampling FYI)

In other related news, AT will also be releasing a lower-end ATH-CK earphone that maybe targetted towards the mid-range-performance IEM/semi-canal class, dubbed the ATH-CK6, which will debut in Japan at the 20th of this month. From the pricing stated in Japanese Yen, I believe it'll cost around the SG$100 region if not slightly less.

Here's an image of the CK6. Looks like the dreaded CK5 earloop support... Is back:

  2. With that shape, its most likely single armature, extremely similar in terms of shape to a hybrid of an Ety and a D-Jays, with its wire popping out Shure E2/ Westone UM1 style.

The design is probably to match the iPods, but I won't be too surprised if AT decides to make a black bersion of this.

As a side note, the CK7 is heavy for a semi-canal. I think per side is 23g?

  3. Housing material yes, but perhaps we should wait for the sound first before passing on judgements like bashing it. The body looks lightweight enough to be held in place by the flanges used.

The design isn't necessarily bad, and we won't know about the ergonomics till we try (It reminds me of an over the ear D-Jays BTW, but it isn't as 'blocky').

I for one can see people going gaga if AT decides to release a black version like their ATH-ES7, black and white release.

  4. Nope, not a typo.

Was browsing HeadFi and was surprised to have run into this!

If it sounds better than the CK7, it'll definitely give a lot of other IEMs a run for their money IMO!

  5. I kinda agree with N@Z here.

IMO, most of the quotes are either too long winded, or just plain not simple enough really.

Furthermore, chances are likely that some members maybe unhappy when stuck with a certain quote they may not want.

Perhaps we should leave things empty so that members can later decide what thy want to have on so they can iron-on/stitch on the T-Shirts if so desired.

Sorry, I know we were really noisy back there x_X

Asked the guys to soften down but in te end got caried away chatting XP

I personally feel that the Orpheus has more than sufficient impact though, in fact, when I loaded up a trance song on it (waaay after ya left), it was a bit too much bass in terms of quantity for me already.

That said, the Orpheus has a frightening extension down in the lows and up in the highs.

  7. The strings... OH my GOSH the strings...

Vocal fluidity... Headroom... Detail... Terrifying extension at both ends...

To sum the Orpheus up in a word... It was... BREATH-TAKING!

If I had my salary in, I'd sit at Jaben for days listening to it non-stop till my wallet runs dry O_O

  8. I think it maybe because of:

'There's no way I'm gonna spend that much on some inknown brand headphones, I've got my Bose' <- commoner style

'So much money for a headphone? You guys're plain nuts' <- another commoner style

'I'd love to have it, but my wallet doesn't agree' <- financial deficiencies

And so on and so forth.

Expensive headphones right from the start isn't exactly geared towards the mainstream community I think.

For sure audio dealers know of this o_O
