well, if it's still working fine and you're not too bothered about it looking not as nice I have 2 suggestions

 

1) buy some heat shrink tubing, use it to cover the exposed wire, and then use a soldering iron to make the tubing shrink to fit. Will look prettier than (2), but requires some diy skill

 

2) what tape did you use to tape it? Try black electrical tape and tape it.

actually will soldering impose more noise too it? more resistance?

is slow reading access when changing songs, this applies to users who always skip tracks(like me), if u dont skip tracks frequently this player perform pretty well

I waited till they came out a good stable firmware to sell, now is ver 1.23 out of beta, quite stable, but still not very good at jumping tracks

overall $250 for a 4gig player, good buy
