  1. don't trust review too much, cos we all have different views/taste/brain/ears, there is no way we can align ourself with the reviewer, so best to find ourself

I suggest the following places for some DAC and maybe some headamp

    very nice friendly owners

    AudioBasic @ adelphi - Burson , Calyx

Rain Drop Audio @ east coast - Red Wine Audio, Wavelength

audio iconic @ adelphi - schitt amp

    trust your own ears

    jaben... for more amps

  2. Well, I am getting the D2. I am getting it because it meets my expectations and needs. It has a very good design using the same type of chipset and opamps that I would use if I would to diy one. The preamp and DAC stage are very well implemented. The layout of the circuit and shielding is well executed. The headphone amp is not bad too. I think it is reasonably priced.

Here is a review from someone who I trust on the older D1.

    Anedio D1 review

And the D2 has a improved power supply for all the stages and it has 24/192 for the USB input.

    are u from singapore?

can i suggest some equips and shop(very friendly owners)

  3. if u are selling soon, don't try... the next buyer... wouldn't appreciate what u have invested...

since u have made this move... u probably believe tuberoll make a difference..

invest on the next tube amp :)

burlington square(beside sim lim square) too, the uncle auntie shop(quite nice) and another shop

  4. Well at least we try to do the AB, and 30 secs? I find a part of the song (highlights maybe 10 secs) and play it over and over again, yeah look like a nut changing headphones in continuously quick successions, lol. I have certain test tracks for each frequency or where I found that some headphones can't particularly do well at, like example bass response if they have textured tones.

actually signatures like warm and bright, bass, treble, still are able to identify

is the micro details that are extremely hard to identify, especially for hi-end models the performance exponential curve is too close...

  5. blind test is too difficult, how can us normal human memorize the harmonic tones in a period of time?

in digital realm thats an awful lot of data in hi-res

is not like comparing LCD tvs, we can pause a scene on both LCD to compare. or place side by side for motion comparing, we could compare at the same time...

sadly we cant play the same music at the same time with 2 pair of headphones/speakers

usually I just ABAB 30 second track, well enough

  6. Please don't be offended, It's a good set of headphones, dark to me. Like the preference goes. Have you decided on the LCD3 yet? There is such a hoohah over the pricing right now. If you can PM me, I have a set of headphones that you might like and its cheap, dirt cheap.

state it here :) or just pm me

  7. Well then it shouldn't be much of a problem there, as long as its not too much emphasized, a little colouration from a tube amp would be acceptable as it would sound dry, but then again the ultimate goal of a true Audiophile are is to listen to the most linear and purest form which is quite difficult to attain anyway imo. By listening to natural acoustic recording, you will notice that mids will always be the focal point and the highs and lows recessed in the background. Mid frequency are naturally more audible to human ears. Bass sound on a headphones should not have vibrations as compared to speaker bass, just the sound of say a 20 hz tone.

@Alakazam, Warm and creamy sounds nice, that's just how I like my cuppa kopi. LCD2 too laid back for my taste cos I want front row seats or to be with the band.

@Nekkrit, Thumping hmmm, have you tried fixing up the headphone amp output to an amp and a subwoofer? Actually thumping for me would point towards the midbass, if you EQ just around the 100hz region you would probably get what you prefer. Or just get Senns ii series, they all have that inherent.

if lcd-2 too laid back... dun get warm and creamy tubes...

  8. I guess it's just sound preference.

I thought my SR60 sounded better with my little dot II+ than it did with a neutral source, like the Clip+. It sounded a little "weightier" than with my Clip+. If I do decide to buy another amp in the future, it'll probably be a tube amp also.

    tubes have more color usually

    try darkvoice, warm and creamy

  9. What I described above is synergy. But taste isn't a factor. What possible taste would you want in an amp except to cleanly and clearly amplify the sound? An amp is not a headphone - it should be a "straight wire with gain."

nowadays portable amp is mostly colored, add bass , add soundstage, brighten up etc
