  2. Hey. Thanks for the advices. Looks like i have to go over to stereo to try out the esw9. The martini should be able to drive the esw9 well right?

My martini is being repaired right now. i don't think stereo have the go-vibes right?

    Go-Vibe is Wilson's personal brand.

  3. hmm. i have some idea what do i want. like cowon s9 + atrios or um1/2(any1 pm or tell me the price of the iems? :D)

    or i could use ipod>lod>martini>esw9/es7 ~

stuck between these 2 so im here for advice :)

You want to go portable, s9 and iem. You want better sound, go esw9 way.

    Only you have the answer

  4. time for me to make a trip down to PS tomorrow :/

I don't think it in stall for now. Didn't see it just now

Is it huge? Any comparison of sizing... may to the hd650 or ed9?

I would consider it big. But it fold-able to keep it compact for keeping. Hard for me to really describe the size. The 840 cramping force is stronger and I'm not use to it. I don't think It will loosen that easily as the head band is so flexible that I can twist and stretch. Another down side is the heavy coil cable which I really hope that shure will consider coming out with a lighter straight cable.

  5. first impression, 840 sound like se530 in a open can. but treble a little harsh which burn may help... 440 sound very good too. compairing both is like hd650 and hd600... both very nicely price too... 840 sound very good with auditor too :) Might consider it for my portable can

  6. Hi all, I have been in this audio obsession for 4 years or so. Safe to say I know what kind of sound I like.(Think Alessandro)

So far, I have always been on a portable setup, am looking to start my home rig now.

Not planning to go speakers, plan to go headphone rig actually.

Source=Laptop, played with itunes, lossless quality.(Or should I go CDP since i got alot of CDs?)

Amp=? Havent figured out which one yet, the heed Canamp seems like a nice way to start

    Headphones= I got a pair of HD25 IIs and a pair of MS2s.

My budget isnt very large at the moment, because I am still reading and finding out what exactly is required for a home rig(and adjusting my budget according)

The main question I would like to ask is, from a laptop to an amp that has built in DAC(iBasso)through the USB cable, how does it compare to a CDP's output? Assuming that the song is ripped in lossless.

    Many thanks! :))

Go cdp unless you ave a very good DAC Notice you have a MS2. I personally find it bright and hate the metallic sound. You can choose to replace it or get some tube amp like ef1 to bring some warmth into it. Anyway, just try to minimize your spending now till you get a good understanding of what you really need.

  7. Thanks guys.

It sound good of the box. After warm up for an hour, it sound even better! Been "pinching and turning" the setting all nite. I understand it better now after all the foreplay.:grin: The effect is not day and nite but very obvious for me especially in controlled environment like my listening room. Luckily it matches both PS1000 and ED8 very well. Especially the ED8. Maybe both are made in Germany.

I believe we make a mistake with it's CENTRE setting yesterday, making it sound slightly clinical. :bash: Best setting for me so far is CENTRE: Off, CROS/SPK: On, CROSSFEED: 3, SPK ANGLE: 40. The power to control the mid and soundstage is great!! Will have to wait for it to burn in and more experiment before I can say more.

It another league compare to my Yamamoto which I've no regrets letting it go. There's so much power in SPL! :prettyprincess:

Jojo, I'll take note of your suggestion. :bash:

Woo Audio headphone stand look good

  8. Shouldn't it be better and cheaper to reshell with ACS? And ain't silicone alot more comfortable than hard acrylic?

ACS do refit for a fee. But since i'm going to pay and if my T1 runs out of warranty, I'll go with um as silicon is not the durable in long run.

  9. i went to stereo the other day, cyrus told me not possible when i asked him for the demo of sf5eb :/

because there is no universal remold eim for demo at stereo. only Aero which i think only Aron and Ting have. Not sure if Cyrus have one make too.

  10. Tried Ting's (Not sure if I got it right. Correct me if i'm wrong Aron) Aero today. I was surprise at how fitting the Aero is as it is a custom. I took out my T1 and briefly compare and realise both of us had similar ear shape. With music playing out of my rio karma, I'm so surprise at how good it sound and the sound signature. I tried a UE10pro before and the signature is very similar. I would say 95% similar at 50% of UE10pro price. The Aero have a rather good sound width and depth for IEM.

Also tried the new Sony X1000. The player is hissless with my T1. However, I find the sound a little disappointing. The dynamic, extreme frequency isn't there imo. It still one of the best sound mp3 in the market but just not the top imo. I'll still rate sansa clip above sony for sound.
