  1. Amazing, I did not know dyn has a multi-media speaker, very compact and cute looking. But it looks terribly similar as the pair of BM5a that I have, even same specs, except the studio version accepts balanced XLR. Mine was bought for $2k, any one knows this version? If it is cheaper,I don'tmind to use as monitor as the specs are allsimilar, except for the tilt base stand.

  2. Hi North Oak, pity there's no more contribution from the others, guess that we're just a handful of the senior (not of age) still lingering around. I miss those days whereby the forum is very busy, whenevr I log in, there will some forms of discussions and new topics. That also shows that we have more newer and I suppose younger forumers here, add more new vigour :D The third meet was held at the now defunct Anything Audio, organised by Mackie.

  3. lol i like your reply, Ezzo. Quote wants to shop in a warehouse concept, while you prefer a shop with proper lay-out. BTW warehouse concept means less mark-up due to display and location, so able to sell lower, but "competitive priced products" may not be applied in Jaben case. The so-called "forum" is controlled with vested interest, just like our 146th, or has ST's ranking drop even further?

  4. Cadence Tech has a showroom stock with racks from Sound Mechanic and other speakers, amps and cables. Trouble is its location: Sciecne Park 2, and not the usual Adephi. Find some time to visit them, friendly people, and Sound Mechanic has some tweaking stuffs that are interesting, especially the cones. BTW Sound mechanic believes in wood as a partner with hifi hardwares, iso glass, acrylic & steel

  5. my mate bought from Cadence at $800, and yes, it is within the $1k budget. Agree very much tat eqipments need good support to sound its best, look at the picture, why is that speaker sitting on a open frame stand. do you there is a reason to use this type of stand instead of heavy duty 4-pillar type? Why does some headpone lover go to the extend to change its stock cable? There is a reason for everyting, and this hobby is time and money consuming. That's why mass market brands like Sony, JVC, Pana, Akira, etc. has still buyers for its boom boxes.

  6. I own this bedside table bought new 7 years ago, now believe discon't. It is well build, thick slabs of wood and good finishing, but as a rack for hifi....????? If you like wood rack, a mate bought a Sound Mechanic 4-tier rack ($800), in Beech finish, color's similar to that IKEA, but much heavier/sturdy and comes with spikes, magnetic shielding/grounding and all. check this out www.soundmechanics.hk

  7. agree with Mackie, cost saving covers the lack of warranty, btw i don't think think there is serial number on HD650, so it doesn;t matter where you buy from. A friend bought his HD650 from albert of AA at $520 and was told it was from HK, i guess it is alright to say now since AA isn;t around anymore

  8. I may be able to help -_- you're dealing in small gigs, what you need is a pair of decent powerd speakers on tripod. Then add a simple mixer - 4-6 micorphone inputs - and showtime! Forget Nexos, it is a concert grade stuff, too expensive in your type of application. I sent you pm, read it for more details.

  9. Aaron,it's not so simple,i do not believe one can buy DT990 at that price. How can the price be that much cheaper, and if so, why is Singapore getting so many buyers from SE Asia? because their countries impose duties on practically every import. It is worth a try though, if really so, your price will beat those of Jaben and I will certainly be your customer rolleyes.gif No worry on Thai language, money talks..hehe

  10. zilk, simple, iPod is mini jack output, find one Y-cable, one end terminated in stereo mini-jack (from iPod) and the other end, is 2 RCA(to go into Rotel's auxillary input). I dont see the rationale to buy a Denon docking station that cost 80 Pounds while the Y-cable can be bought for less than $30 (check around hardware store, if not, Parklane shop has the Klotz version for sale

  11. wenjia, now you have Razer's view, the next thing you need to do a demo. Trust only your own ear, YOU're the one who is going to listen to your own favourite tracks, be it on HD650 or K701 or etc. Make a trip to stereo E or Anything audio, unless you're not residing here. Then you'll know the REAL answer.Demo is all within reach and FOC, go for it! wink.gif

  12. I m posting this on behalf of albert of anything audio. He dug out from somewhere 2 more sets of DT 880 (that version with aluminium box) for sales at $299, and they are new. It will be first come first serve basis, and no phone booking, to be fair to all - call him if in doubt at 97543050.

Mod eit: edited Albert's mobile no.

  13. Hi lengcm, i heard HD650 with equinox, despite brief encounter with K701 at aa, i feel both models are opposite in character.personally i don't feel for AKG,since k240s and k501, i feel its presentation weak in most aspects.Yes i admit i ain't fans of classical, which AKG is fond of. Perhaps you and razer (i know as the sole owner of k701 in sgforum) could enlighten me, then i can look-out for the benefits when I make a listen of k701 one more time.tks sleep.gif

  14. Haha iconic, easy biggrin.gif i did suggest earlier that they hold a annual get-together for forumers mah, of course include food and beer lol logical suggestion though, since i m sure many forumers buy stuff from them.maybe can even recruit more dealers to participate and sponsor in our future plans...but never see dealer participation except stereo, or they don't need/bother and prefer to stay neutral?

  15. the mystery solved, the difference is local warranty against export no warranty. This happens to popular items when merchant sees potential due to substantial price difference, and us, as consumer, decide to enjoy the saving and take the risk, or play safe and byt warranty. The decision is yours rolleyes.gif If the saving is good, and you feel items can survive the 1/2 years warranty, why not? In fact this is good for consumer, as we not fixed to buy from agent/reseller, whom may do a high mark-up.Look at the car industry as an example
