    I have a SR80, MS2i, AD900 and KSC75. All of which are very efficient cans. I'm using my headphones on my notebook using ext USB DAC, and will not be upgrading cause i'm overseas. I'm thinking of getting a cheap (<$50) amp, but not sure if they are worth it cause these are efficient cans... and i will not be able to test it before buying... wat u guys say? shd i get an amp or i shd just live with wat i have now??

    I think you guys misinterpreted my question. To make a fair comparison, it should be a pc/notebook's soundcard and maybe ROM comparing to a dedicated cdp. However my question is only on the ROM, if the "reader" makes a difference compared to that of a dedicated cdp. Not considering the sound card, caps, ics and other components in the whole chain.

    i was listening to my CD via a DVD rom, and i don have a dedicated cdp. So i'm wondering how much difference will a cdp be.

    However i think the difference should not be on the ROM itself because its primarily a reader. It reads in binary, and its actually the soundcard's DAC and cct design that affects the SQ. So does it mean that the ROM makes no difference? I may be wrong....

    I went to Stereo Electronics to try out the 225 and 325i on fri, but didnt get to make a comparison with the MS2i. I find the 325i having a noticibly larger soundstage than the 225, but didnt realise if its brighter than 225. I agree that the weight makes 325i more "tiring" to wear, but it really looks way nicer than the 225.

    I also tried AD900 based on Aron's recommendation, which really confused my whole plan of getting another Grado... I think the comfort is a big plus, feels like my whole face is being covered up. Quite like the sound of it, not as bright as the Grados, but its as detailed as the 325 & 225 IMO. Will be seriously considering this...

    I support Manchester United and I NEVER select Liverpool's players, even they keep so many clena sheets last season. Ballack is now the top team in this league. I kenna pushed to 3rd!

     

    its natural for you to do so, cause i used to be like that... but in this game, its important to remain objective, and if a player is good, then why not? I may be a liverpool fan, but i think that Rooney is a great striker.
