get yourself prepare to the Vinyl route, you need to,
start buying lots of LPs,
storage containers for LPs,
a Spirit Level,
Stylus Force Gauge,
long nose plier,
start shopping for TT, cartridges, phono amps.
after confirm the TT, get a MintLP protractor,
and lastly record cleaning machine when you hit more than 80LPs.
here you go, Nirvana is waiting.
Dun forget a small wooden stool, portable radio and lots of old but comfortable T-shirts and shorts so you can get down to washing ALL that dirty dirty LP in the kitchen/bathroom like a good kopitiam dishwasher!!!

Sarah McLachlan "Live Acoustic"
Katie Melua "The Katie Melua Collection" Canadian Pressing
There seems to be some "digital noise/buzzing" in the background on the first track . Not sure if anyone has heard this. Its pretty faint and intermittent in the first 1-2 minutes IIRC, need to listen for it. Wonder if other pressings also the same. Well, I got so irritated by it and don't listen to the 1st track anymore and those who know me, know that I'm a bit "deaf" so this is pretty bad So, Jojo, think you better stay away from this one, though I think this kind of music may not be your cup of tea

errr...that small thingy cost more than my whole rig....
The wooden box, maybe I can afford...
Print it out and stick on the wall

Perhaps deep deep deep DEEP DEEP down inside you realy wanted to do that?
Well, that's why we always, knowingly or unknowingly, try to find fault with our systems when we want to upgrade.
But your subconscious mind is really ... determined?
-
Oh my, how did that happen?? Well, you can always buy a new one or send it off to be retipped with a ruby cantilever and diamond tipped boron stylus...

Caused by the Vinyliumanus virus.
That's a bit of a mouthful! I think the layman term is called the "Blondie-titis"!
-
backside itchy...
Seems to be contagious... must be some kind of anal virus

Raven AC turntable with a Triplanar arm..... in other words, an absolutely glorious drool-worthy dream!

More fun links - cleaning your vinyl with wood glue:

Like that will be quite expensive to clean, no? To clean one side takes quite a bit of time.
Perhaps only for super dirty and expensive/rare LPs.

Now the all important question: how does it sound? Or are you too shacked out from the setup to hear it? Or are you still sleeping?
-
Wooooohooooooooo...................
When can we come by for a listen?

Cool vid!

OMG... another one bites the dust. Nooo!!!!
Watch out watch out!
Haha.... hey bro, I've been thinking about the other time I listened to your amp+HD800 and remembered that it sounded a bit cold & analytical for me. Now come to think of it, I think that a vinyl source may be what you NEED! With it, I think your rig will be
Maybe that's why RSA came out with a NEW affordable phono?! Ain't that just fantastic timing? Looks like it's just meant to be. One of you favourite amp builders has just created a new phono for "you". Wld definitely be a match in heaven for your "American Indian".
Just my 2 cents....

Am mating the Garrard with a Thomas Schick 12". Read that its recommended to use a 12" as it would reduce the vibration of the motor on the tonearm as it is further away, which made some sense. Nonetheless, a good plinth material that would absorb resonances is just as important. Either a heavy mass plywood plinth (like the plinths made by Jean Nantais) or some material with good damping properties like slate would be good; though the latter in that large a dimension is pretty hard to find in Singapore.
Example of a Jean Nantais plinth
A Slate Plinth by OMA
Was also considering bonding marble with delrin. Marble is very resonant but has a heavy mass, while the delrin would damp the resonance of the marble pretty well. Using either on its own isn't recommended as delrin only would over-damp the table and marble would "ring" like a bell.
