  1. hi friends

This set of amazing cans are mint and put in gorgeous Beyer case. Bought about two weeks ago. Comes with receipt and instruction booklet but no box.

Nothing wrong with this cans. These are Uncle Wilson's most talked about cans. Found them quite bulky but built is first class.

    Selling them for $300.[/color]

    SMS me at 96969944

  2. hi all

somehow my iPod Video 80GB can drive my 250ohm Beyer DT150 to sufficiently loud volume. I'm listening to it via line out, using Qsilver's dock adapter without volume control. Full volume. Some how I can take its volume. Just nice. Not fatiguing. I've tried driving it with portable amp, but my ears can't hear much difference. In fact, driving iPod full out seems to sound better. :rclxms::cans:

  3. hi

I'm looking to sell my um2. Full set with receipt. Bought around early Nov 06.

    Asking for SGD380.

    contact me at 96969944

Reason for selling: I've just received a nice case as xmas gift, for iPod Video but can't use um2 with this case. Earphone jack opening too small. Hence need to sell UM2.

  4. Hi:

I've had the MS-Pros for sometime but still seeking a decent amp to match it.

now still using my firestone i-cute beyond, which was bought to drive A-900 I used to have.... I don't think it could give me the full potential of the woodies :D

So now I'm considering the Lehmann Black Cube Linear but not sure how does it sounds...

I need some detailed, analytical sound, tried Little Country but it just made the MS-Pros sound too soft... :(

So any suggestions? price range better not to be higher than 1k+

    thanks in advance

    hi

Why din you try RA-1???? Or maybe you resisted this obvious choice?

    cheerios

  5. i wanna make my way down to SE, but it's kinda far from me. i live in the east, so it'll be very time-consuming to go to SE. i'm a student and my exams are round the corner, so i dont have much time to spare. =(

    good student, u are!

Anyway, if you are staying in Tampines.. it is relatively painless to take a breezing 40 min direct bus ride with 969 from Tampines Interchange to Woodlands Regional Interchange.

you can enjoy your music! Just make sure u get a seat first. :yeah:

  6. hi

I wanted to transfer my funds to another project. There is nothing wrong with this pair of excellent cans. I've been running it in every night with music with moderate volume.

Comes with its infamous suitcase, singapore warranty. I have purchase receipt (dated 12th Aug 2006) from Stereo Electronics. All mint and no scratches on its wooden cups. :cans:

    See to believe.

    Price: SGD980.00 (Revised)

Msg me at 96969944 to view and deal in North (Yishun NorthPoint or Woodlands' Causeway Point)

    cheerios

The iCute wise, best is since that it can run off batteries, and it lasts like around 20 hours of continuos usage. It also comes with the high/low gain switch so that I can switch between the DT880 and ER4P.

I second Top-Gun's opinion on iCute. It is quite versatile and battery operated with two 9-volt batteries is a plus. It can be charged directly w/o opening the assembly.

I can't comment on your choice of cans as I did not try them. Sorry. :cans:

  8. hi

but sometimes the way they played and advertised their 'High Society' CDs puts me off. The gals will play selections of each track in some particular album then skips to next track and cycle continues.. AND blast the tracks thro' their BMB speakers.. so hash and fatiguing..

I once stayed in the shop to browse for more than hour and they just keep blasting the same CD over and over again.. wanna puke :ppth:

Since the GS-1ks are out of stock, would like to OT abit.

ericssan, your missus knows about that avatar u using?

    It's always very disturbing.. :D

No, she doesn't spy on me regarding forums. But she did notice that lately I've been surfing net alot and RELIEVED to know that I'm in safe net of SGH and HeadFi. Little did she know that these two places are slowly poisoning my mind to get better cans to enjoy simple joys of two channel music. She just commented, "Seems like you are auditioning bigger and bigger headphones as time goes by!"

  10. hi all

I think many forumers and possibly lurkers of SGH are using AKG K701. With my limited listening experience with cans, I read and learnt that this 701 is very challenging. On one hand, it has so much potential to unleash. My first impression is that it provides almost very wide and airy soundstage, female vocals also sounded so sweet.

My FOTM music is classical and vocals now. Sigh. This cans definitely need a good headamp to mate to bring out its potential.

I've tried it with Xenos, iCute battery headamp, MF X-cans v3 and the latest been Little Country tube headamp by firestone audio.

The latter is the latest and newest of the block from Jaben. I just visited Uncle Wilson today. It is a double-decker design with a supplier block below, comes with step attenuator. I'm very impressed by its amping of k701. Instrument timbre is softer and more fluid and less harsh on the ears, compared to X-Cans. That is of course coming from my limited brief auditioning.

I am also surprised that when I switched back to iCute, I simply can't tahan the same song (just 5 seconds into the same song).. it sounds harsher and brighter... alamak, what happened to my ears???

Had I not been rushed by my wifie, I would have paid for Little Country.

a pic to stir some emotions in you...

Can owners of k701, share with us about your relentless pursuit of the ultimate headamp for k701? :cans:

  11. Its called flavour of the month...Its a term from headfi...Where some new cans get rave reviews or extra attention and everyone starts pouring in on how good they sound and stuff like that...

thanks, Razor. sounds familiar ...

  12. I sense FOTM here...I mean, how mind blowing can the sound be...I listen to it everyday and it doesn't seem to blow me away. Yeah, it sounds good and stuff like that but not to the point of addiction...FOTM warning..... :D

    hi Razer,

sorry. Could you care to explain what FOTM means?

However, remember that all these equipment here is meant for us ot enjoy our music!

A cheapo earphone/headphone can satisfy any Jane/Joe because they feel happy when listening to their crap 64Kbps MP3s!

If you become too engrossed in trying to find meticulously all the details/transparency/depth in a song, it sorts of take out the fun of it.

    hi Top Gun

your post is well written and thought out. Congrats and thanks!:wine::grouphug:

  14. Wow i didnt know the amp was the x-canv3. Ericssan you should try the Grado RA-1 or a headroom amp. The Grado's really prefer it to the x-can's - better synergy IMO of course.

    thanks, will do. Cheerios :cans::gradoHP:

  15. as much as i like the gs1000, have to buy (and win some decent $$) 4D first.

Yes SGD1600 can buy lotsa of stuff. But ATH-W5000 can be closed to GS1000, if we settled our emotions and compared them over an extended period of time.
