I am currently streaming wifi from Aiport Express to dac with iTunes and Remote to control. It's a wonderfully simple and cheap solution to stream music around. I did have some dropouts before but it turned out to be a faulty optical cable. Now I want to run a second system but with the new AppleTV with at a lower price, I wonder if Apple will drop the price of AE or just discontinue it.

I was at Borders yesterday and I think the classical section may indeed have been dispensed with. HMV remains the only decent place left for this genre. I think online is the way to go from here on though.

You may want to consider the Oppo universal player which falls into your budget as well. It has received uniformly good reviews and a unit I heard at a friend's place was good, especially from SACD. I had a Marantz 5001 about a year ago for my secondary room setup and it just didn't sound right for me. Lacking at both frequency extremes. Finally settled on an NAD which I thought was much better.
