  1. You are really fast, evil-zen! innocent.gif

For me, I did a roughlly comparation of my w1000 and the cd3000 with rotel player and corda ha1.

Overally I still prefer the AT over SONY for it's more relaxing character. sony got thicker vocal, AT got smoother high, sony got biger bass but AT's base is tight and enough for me; soundstage wise, I feel w1000 is better, more transparent. Sony is good for those who prefer there sound powerful and energetic, and the AT is more for those who prefer a more smoother sound and more suit for classical.

  3. ting,

Ah.....now I understand your description of "echoey" refers to the body then. The Klotz is not exactly a cable to replace the expensive ones but it does offer great-value-for-money because of its low cost. The same goes for Beldens. I believe these DIY interconnects are superior replacement of the freebie red/white rca cables.

One thing is for sure albeit I have the Klotz, I agree it's not good enough to replace my Kimbers and Tara Labs.

Btw, do U know the Klotz is wrapped in another skin under Rega's name and sold for about $200+? That's why DIYers are so into it. biggrin.gif

Can't get in for last week, today finally can.

Yes, agree with you about the value.

Same cable sell for 200++ under Rega? Then have to be careful when buy 200++ cables wink.gif

  4. For me, I need them all, speaker and phones.

I use speaker for long time background listening mainlly, say a whole saturday morning, ocationally for serious listening.

I use phones for serious listening, plus portable on the go and office.

I got one JVC ux9000 mini conected to my tv set for daily use. Later if I got my own house, I need to buy a HT set...

You see? You need them all tongue.gif

You will always got the urge to buy something as time goes by, stereo.gif and all my rigs are necessary, aren't they? yes.gif

  5. Guyferd, it's about 150+ if my menory serves me right.

Mackie, I'm sure it's not the recording. I did a careful compare with my transparent and chord cable, my wife also comment that the transparent and the chord play piano more like real piano, the kloz feels like children's piano, it's not the soundstage and the ambience feeling, it's that each note lacks a kind of density than from the other two.

The kloz cable have a great ability with rhythm and pace, you just can't help moving with the music, when I first fix it in, I feel great, and this stopped me from looking deep into other factors of this cable, and my transparent is too tight to do AB. wacko.gif Two weeks ago, when I went to electrade, Peter complained the cable is not as good as what people saying about it, so when I came back home, I did the AB and changed back.

  6. After using the Kloz IC for a while, I chaged back to my transparent and the cord chamelien 2, because I found the kloz have a kind of echo effect which is not acceptable, espacially when you listen pianos. Yes, the kloz is faster and make you move with music, but this echo effect just let me down. dry.gif

  7. Yeh! Finally the meet! w00t.gif

I will bring my 11se and W1000, if you guys need pcdp, I can bring my panasonic sl510 and a sony D-121, I bought the sony from the new cash converter at Jurong east for S$28, quite good condition, you should come and see, a lot of pcdps and mds, I saw one D-34, D135, D805, pana 230, 320, some technics, aiwas and jvcs laugh.gif

You guys fix the date first, then I have to see my wife's condition, she got pregnant for two month biggrin.gif

  8. Read from head-fi years ago that creek 11se is quite ok to drive 501 (for the price), and now I'm also using the 11se with my 501, the warm nature of 11se is quite suit the 501's "netural and a bit dry/bass shy, very airy" nature, volumn wise, I listen at 9 to 10 o'clock, but I used to listen at soft volumn. Creek 11 is colder and harder than 11se, I don't like it. I used to audit the sudgen headmaster, while it's very good for w100, it don't have the synergy with k501. hammer.gif

Maybe headroom max would be good? kicking.gif

  9. About 3 hrs at office with pcdp->11se->px200, can't use big one at office dry.gif , plus 2 to 3 hrs of listening to radio on the go and up to 10am in the morning with px200 or mx500. My colleage said I always got something on or in my ears headphone.gif

1/2 to 1 hr at home before go to sleep with w1000 or k501, rest of time I'm listening to my speaker or watching tv laugh.gif

I just can't live without some music on whistling.gifwhistling.gif
