  1. Can I check where you guys get the millennium cd-mat? Is it available locally? If someone could PM me the price, that would be great. Thanks!
  2. HFI 550 is an old Ultrasone model. And yes, it is the HFI series, not PRO. I managed to find one from Amazon for quite a decent price. The PRO900 has a really weird sound signature which I did not like at all. Can't really put my finger on it, but it's probably the recessed midrange as mentioned by some of the bros here. My 550's sound signature is closer to the 780 which I really liked, if not for the clamping force which can get uncomfortable after a while. Great for rock and pop, which are the 2 main genres of music that I listen to. The PRO900 is really comfortable, and I was hoping it'll sound as good as the HFI series. Too bad...
  3. As far as I know, only Audio Basics have them. I managed to have a listen to them a week ago. Not the sound I expected. I have a HFI 550 and I liked it a lot, but the PRO 750 and 900 sounds different.
  4. Heed is a brand from Hungary, not a US brand. In the 2nd hand market, prices are like US$300, not exactly cheap. And the stuff here is mostly 110V. I'd rather get a unit that uses local voltage. Not quite sure how much a local unit will cost, though...
  5. Well I will be back in SGP in December. Currently using the EF1 to drive the AKG. It sounds decent, but I am sure there's plenty of room for improvement with a beefier amp. Will drop by Jaben to listen to the Canamp when I'm back.
  6. Hey guys, I got my D2000 from the head-fi forum. It's a used pair, but the condition is really really good. I'm in the US now, so it's easier to set up a deal over here. Paid less than US$200, with shipping included. Yes, I am using my EF1 to drive the Denon. Definitely more punchy than the AKG, but the AKG's resolution is better.
  7. I just got my Denon D2000 today. Wow...these cans are really excellent for rock. Nice bass, good detail and decent soundstage - very musical. With my EF1, it sounds just right. I'll spend more time listening to it tonight - but first impression is that these are excellent for rock. And it's feels very comfortable, too. I'll still keep my 702s for female vocals and lighter stuff...
  8. Buy the Sony CD900ST! Only available in Japan. The RX 700 can be bought in the US for US$35 - with free shipping.
  9. The choice of having 2 cans for different genres of music is an excellent one. I think the 702 is the perfect choice for the genre of music that you just mentioned. The bass will surface out with the correct amplification. The soundstage and separation on the 702 is excellent. For rock and metal, some of the recommendations that I have gotten include Ultrasone Pro 900 and Grado 325. I guess you'll have to audition and decide. I quite enjoy the Sennheiser 25-I for rock and metal, it has punchy bass and decent details. I am also getting a Denon D2000 coming my way. The bass is supposed to be nice on them. Unfortunately the Ultrasone is a little over my budget...well, maybe next time.
  10. Congrats! So did you get the DT880 +Crossroads Edge bundle? That's really quite a good buy
  11. Amazon is selling DT880 for US$173.40 now. Amazing value! Just got myself a pair. They won't send directly to Singapore, so use Borderlinx or VPost. http://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-DT-880-...19856703&sr=8-1
  12. Your location is really excellent as I stay at just across the road at Cassia Crescent! I'll sms you to arrange for an audition. Thank you.
  13. Hi I am actually thinking of getting a MkII, but I have no idea how it sounds like. My music preferences is mainly rock. I used to have a Dared MP5 used on my stereo set up, and it didn't really suit my music. Anyway, is it possible to audition the MkII amp to hear how it sounds like before I make a decision whether to go for it?
