  1. Hi looking for something to drive my Grado 225.

If you have something gathering dust or taking up space and willing to let go in the range of $120 to $150. Do let me know.

DIY amps welcome. Cosmetic not important, but chassis at least needs to be complete and working perfectly because I'm not going to fiddle with it.

Appreciate if you can send email to: b j c h e n "at" singnet "dot" com "dot" sg (no spaces).

    Thank you.

  2. Thanks pegasus21. So simply put diamond buffer helps with the matching of impedance between

equipment, and provides some gain too. I'm trying to match my equipment to my amp which only

has an input impedance of 20k ohm.

From what I know, it is pretty much the internals of a buffer being assembled using individual components. This has the benefit of a higher current limit. I'm not sure if the distortion is lower than a BUF634. Pretty low though at 0.002% as mentioned by Walt Jung.

A buffer is to give you the low output impedance as well as to give the power need to drive the stuffs connected at the output. If your signal comes out of the amplifier but doesn't have enough power to drive whatever that's connected to it, the signal voltage will drop and you thus have the situation where your load isn't driven well.

  3. Hi All,

I've been reading bits and pieces of this thread.

Am sorry to hear what happen to some of you. I guess

everybody is out to make a quick buck.

But can someone point me in the right direction what this

diamond buffer is about? I been unsuccessful in finding information.

I think I did read about this being designed by Walt Jung (the master of the

    super regulators.)

Anyway I am sure it offers some sonic upgrade to your equipment, and in this

forum the application I assume will be for headphone amps? But I am wondering

what does it do? Why would you need to add a buffer? I am not technical at all.

And from what I've been reading, you'd want less things in your signal path right?

If the headamp, or maybe the output stage of a DAC is doing its job why add

    something else?

Thanks for reading, any help is much appreciated.

  4. I own many pair of mogami with different connector from nuetric, cardas to bullet. I were puzzed why they did not sound as good as audience au24 even 100 of hours of running in until I open a pair of audience au24 and found out the answer.

It is a good IC if it is terminated carefully and properly. Don't expect magic from this cable but it definately worth more than the money you paid for as compared with many other overpriced IC in the market.

    Hi bkling,

care to share what you saw when you open the au24?

    Thanks.

  5. Hi guys,

    I'm new here.

Would like to share that I came across the Burson Discreet OPAMP/HDAM

module over at TNT review a couple months back. Was interested for my Zhaolu,

so I did some researching on the net, and came across this.

You may recognize the handle "Ruach" from Echoloft. I think he did a good job

    pointing it out.

It does not mean that the OPAMP module is bad or does not work (in fact TNT

says good things about it,) but it was enough to put me off.

Just thought you might want to readup on it.

  6. Looking to buy a used white Sony MDR-EX71SL cheap.

If you don't like it, and you want to make a little

money from it, please let me know.

I'll pick one up only if the price is very good, so appreciate

you can make your offer. Please, it has to be working

properly. I can only deal at an MRT station in town lunch time

weekdays. There is no other time, or place. Mail won't work because

I want to test it. Sorry, but I've been burnt before, and it was

    really unpleasant.

    No dealers please.

    Thanks for looking. :))
