    China people have a general problem with integrity, and will not hesitate to take advantage or cheat you if it were possible.

     

    Did anyone see the TV report about the scams from China? They will lie to you smoothly straight in the face, and guarantee you with their 'integrity', and that 'china people are good people with conscious'. When exposed, they will still talke back loudly and rudely, as if it is our fault.

     

    Even the rich chinese families, whose kids are sent overseas to japan for studies (personal experience). They have no respect for others property. When it's raining, they will just take other peoples umbrellas, and even steal bicycles to use once and just discard after use. Obnoxious.

     

    Sorry about the rant, of course not all China people are like this, but I am convinced a worry percentage of their population are so. I'm still pissed I was brought up to say '我是中国人‘. What a derogatory term.

    Replacement pads for my HD595 costs nearly $30 from them, but may be cheaper

    than getting them from a retail shop. No harm calling the service centre to check first.

    Hey, I support the "stealing" of music via peer-to-peer file sharing or otherwise.

    Because I really want to see the collapse of the music industry in its current form.

    Seriously. I'm not trying to be sarcastic. Market forces and technological advances

    change business rules all the time. If the industry refuses to evolve, and instead chooses

    to hang on their old business model AT THE COST OF THEIR LEGAL CUSTOMERS,

    then they do deserve to collapse.

     

    I won't be surprised if recording labels are actually making more overall profits due

    to piracy of their music. The increase in market penetration, reach and exposure

    of their artistes by an order of magnitude gives them access to a much wider

    market audienceand much more business opportunities. If not for all the piracy,

    did u think it would havebeen so easy for JPOP/KPOP to get into our market?

    Or for Taiwanese/HK artistes to get into China and cut all those lucridious deals

    for sponsorships, ads to be spokepeople for products?

     

    I'm looking forward to the day where people can download music and mtvs for

    free off the recording label's websites.

    Finally got to listen to the Gilmore Lite....

    took me a while to get the step-down transformer and power plug adaptor >_<

     

    Initial impressions... OMG it's good! headphone.gif

    Definitely a class above the META-42. Immediately apparent is that the bass

    is more extended (compared to my PDAC) and everything sounds more effortless.

    However the bass seems more muddled.. could be the new belden cables i'm using,

    but I'm hoping it'll go away after breaking in the system..

     

    Test Equipment:

    (See sig below.. but insert gilmore lite between DAC and Headphones)

    Music: Various high quality mp3s using foobar/kernal streaming

    Has anyone here hooked up a PC to your big screen television before?

    I want to set-up a high quality PC-HDTV rig very soon..

     

    Currently I'm thinking of getting the Sony HS34M61 Super Fine Pitch with the

    KeyDigital Transcoder and probably use a Nvidia based graphics card.

     

    I will appreciate any advice, especially regarding your experience with HDTVs,

    or better still, if you have used a transcoder between your PC VGA-out

    and TV component-in before.

    Windows media encoder can stream movies of different bitrates for you.. depending on how fast the viewer'sd connection is.

    But.. I never found using a dedicated video streaming (software) server necessary. Easiest is to encode and host the video

    like a normal file.
