  1. but u really bo liao leh 2 dual drive custom y not u go ES3 or Ue 7/10 pro lol

now the only universal comparable to custom is Ws3

How do you know? Have you heard(or even anyone at all for that matter) it before?

Are you really gona to let the poll decide what you gona buy?

Funny how on one hand you "whack" the bakuteh guy for comparing BOSE with something he never heard and here you are doing the same thing?

  2.

    small sum...

    From experience...

    do but don't get caught...

so...the screws incident was one such experience when you got caught with your pants down eh?

in both instances, of course you have got nothing much to lose, but the other party is an operational business...you would'nt want the entire company to get a bad reputation because of you, do you?

if it even bothers you that is...

I am hesitating to use the "report" button since this could potentially implicate the forum board as you are encouraging people to commit an illegal act, much akin to encouraging people to download music "but just don't get caught"???

Just to see how difficult it is to fit a heat shrink into a Shure E2G. I used a pink ( easier for others to see) 7mm heat shrink with a 2:1 shrink ratio and manage to shrink to almost tight fit.

I would recommend a 7 or 8mm heatshrink with 3:1 shrink ratio to do the job, and if you want to perfect it, get one with glue in the inner tube (adhesive lined) to get a 100% water proof and air tight seal. Be careful when shrinking it down too, you don't want to melt off the other portions.

gee...that is shurely more usefull than a whole chunk of text!!!

  4. But you are only thinking of a 6mm circle in simple 2-Dimensional sense and I am very shure the plug is bigger than that, not to forget navigating the "L" shape of the square plug...got to visualize in complex 3-Dimensional senses, just like how we see codings of the Matrix...

  5. I'd reccomend placing a heat shrink wrap over the tear, it should help.

LOL, I am really interested to see how you can fit the heat shrink over the drivers or the plug...

OP: if it is still under warranty, they can be replaced with a new set. else, they can be replaced for a fee, but you would be simpler(and better) to upgrade...

  6. Yes, usually so but when you do it under table... ;)

Firstly, I have to say I cannot offer any advices for the OP, but I had to speak up for this "recommend course of action" because it sounds really wrong to me...

Please refrain from doing something like this because the contract you signed IS legally binding, unless you want to screw up your life over that few hundred bucks of course...

  7. Just some tips to share if you're planning to make your own earmould, to avoid sending them back for a re-make.

    - Make your ear impression from a certified audiologist.

    - The impressions are usually shipped on the same day if not the next working day, depending on the mode of shipping, they usually reach the lab between 3 - 10days.[/i]

Usually companies like Westone would take less than 3 working days to complete your custom earmould, and another 4 - 5 days to ship back to you.

So if you chose express shipping, the whole process should take less than 2 weeks and about 4 weeks for non-express.

And I guess "Simon" did not request for these that you were kind enough to share with us?

I also suppose you do not have any agenda behind the above points made.

    :yes::yes::yes:

on hindsight, I guess its a lot of assumptions being made on my side, but I guess your posts tend to cause just that.

  8. need some maturity in this hobby, the kids/fanboys arent helping

and how do you think your one liner here which labels those who replied to this thread fanboys/kids help?

Incidences like these date back much earlier, back to the time after I first joined this forum. I remember another much heated discussion when "authorised" people started making infering post which started people questioning the credibility of "unauthorised" people making ear impressions, just after this "authorised" person started carrying services for earmolds.

Another instance when $$$ is not about everything, whatever happened to Shop Y's MO for big ticket items? It now seems to me its just to generate some publicity for himself? Do you think an "authorised" person can really conduct MOs, bypassing the local distributer and still offer warranty? Of course theres the few who would disagree, citing low costs to consumer as everything.

I have tried restrain myself from this kind of backlashing since it involves a REAL business and REAL money, by offering subtle comments to make my point from time to time. But it seems some people here just do not see and respect that because they seem to think that the entire world revolves around them just because they are the consumers with the spending power.

  9. either that, or you got a bad fit. Im sure you can get them remade free from wherever you made them.

Yours seem to have sharp edges also so you gota be carefull with them.

Should look something like this inside the ear:

  10. oh great...seems like this thread IS going down the wrong direction...

lemme try to put things in perspective by listing just facts:

    1) Shop X sold a customed earmold to a user for his Westone UM2

    2) The user posted a review quoting them as Westone UM56(which he has since clarified as a misunderstanding)

    3) Shop X got banned from here

    3) Shop Y which just got dealership for customed Westones started selling ES2 at rockbottom prices.

    4) Shop Y which is venturing into cheaper alternatives pointed out that the existence of "imitations"

    5) Shop Y linked to a thread a mould that clearly states incorrectly his moulds being UM56s which also states the maker being Shop X.

    6) People here start debating on what is right and what is wrong.

imo most people here dont see the point that different people people view this matter differently. Most people would just take it that Shop X ever sold a so called "fake"(which works and looks as well as if not better), and that Shop Y was nice enough to point it out here with links to the "fakes" in question. Shop Y is going to offer cheaper/better alternatives so Shop X=bad and Shop Y=good.

Comon if the people in charge here is really that impartial, this situation is definitely similiar when someone made several comments to Kingsley sometime back and was warned to edit his posts(which imo meant TOTALLY no harm, but in fact advertisement for them), and now since only Shop Y is "actively" participating here is given all sorts of leeway to post "infering" posts to another "fallen" dealer? Is this the double stardard thats is being practised? How about the situation when bluetin was spamming the shoutbox? Was any actions done as PUBLICLY as the banning of certain members and dealer?

    NO

If low prices are all you care about, and you tend to think you are intelligent to guess what is the real truth from just one side of the story, then you have taken the BLUE pill...

If you can see beyond just the $$$, you have taken the RED pill, and welcome to the REAL world...

  11. All right then, both your points taken...Im not going to prolong this fiasco any further for I see no point because many people do not know what they are talking about, while others make implications for the rest to imagine.

I sincerely apologise if I offended anyone with my posts. I just wish more people would take the RED pill so they do not believe in just whatever they read/see/guess........

  12. I beg to differ. It's good that he informs the general public about this.

I think the consumer has the right to know what he's buying before deciding on his purchase.

Personally, I don't mind getting a non-official custom tips if quality is good. However, if I were to spend such a significant sum of $$ on a so-called "UM56" without knowing it's a fake.....

Well, herein lies the point of this fiasco. How do you know the price that was charged for these"fake" moulds? How do you know its not a "custom" tip so customed that westone dosent make them? How do you know if it really was the cheapo spinoff everyone has been talking about? Even when you only "think" the consumer has to know what he's buying before deciding on his purchase", which I agree, but just shows that you are not very confident of what you are saying but just jumping in to post your reply here?

I am not trying to deride a dealer here who is making so much effort to inform the masses, just trying to point out that the amount of effort to prove himself right before his own sales could make people question his intent. And jumping to his defense could also make people question yours.

And besides its not like theres many other westone custom dealers around and it makes it sound like the other earmoulds outside are counterfeit and expensive before his own sales?

  13. Stereo Electrnics,

imho its not very nice of you to call someone elses moulds "fake" before you start to carry your own "MO sales", especially when you are a "reputable" dealer inside this forum...it gives people the impression that you got bad business ethics...

Just my little advice to you...

  14. I suppose what some of the people here are trying to say is that:

    1) If SE made such an announcement as a dealer in the "announcements" section of this forum, it SHOULD be substantiated with links, or at least pics so that potential buyers here could be warned...Its not like there are too many UM56s being posted around in "other" forums.

    2) If SE had the intention of warning us readers here, he SHOULD have stated earlier(before actually being questioned) regarding the "earmolds from audiologists/dealers from HK" being the counterfeits in question and not leave feeble minds to wander which is real and which is not. Its not exactly too many "other" dealers who actually deal extensively with Westone earmolds.

imo, the molds in the first pic dont look all that bad standalone, but just imagine them in your ears.

  15. 15 a day... even in jc, i think i only got like about 200 per mth.

15 a day even beats my current nsf allowance, which is slightly over 400. counting myself lucky that i have students to give tuition to.

    back in JC, bout 7 years ago, i received $100 a month, $25 a week, $5 a day, for 2.5 meals a day

then i was using sony streetstyles neckbands and also the nudes which i had to secretly buy without my parents knowing, and often to under quote the price when they ask me how much they cost:lol:

btw this part of the forum can chat freely right? Im new here, thanks.
