  1. Dear ppl,

Bought these ear-buds for my sisters, and they just love it!

    [attachmentid=3856]

I was told that these ear-buds were designed by a group of female engineers from A-T. The flower theme canister has very interesting flower design. Total 6 design.

Retailing at $35.00 a pce, can be quite expensive.

    Sound wise

    Bass: 9/10

    Mid: 9.5/10

    Hi: 9.5/10

You can check them out at HMV, iShop or Best Denki.

    Bought mine at iShop.

  2. paid $290, can get cheaper deal if you check the ebay, but not sure of the warranty.

Tried it on the bus, think In-ear earphone is still the best insulation on bus, the Audio Technica cannot cancel the irritating noise from Mobile TV.

But In-ear earphone is very uncomfortable for long haul flight. I tried an in ear noise cancelling earphone some time back, very painful after few hours, and inconveient when you need to move around.

So this phone is only worth it, if you are a frequent traveller. If you want a noise cancelling device for train/bus, got for In ear earphone, much cheaper and achieve the same result.

We have to be clear between noise isolation (In-Ear Bud type) & noise cancelling (those use for air traveller) type of headphones.

Noise isolation cuts off noise almost completely, dangerous if u use them in the street like cycling or running. Noise cancelling is different, u will still hear some noise in the back ground but, as u increase the volume of the music that u are listening, it will almost completely reduce the ambient noise.

I usually keep the volume with minimal ambience noise so that i will not miss my meals during my biz trips. :cans:

Btw, ANC7 can also be use as normal headphones. The 40mm close-black provides comfort & long hrs of usage.

Dear ppl, just to let u noe that if u guys are travelling & interested to get a ANC7, pls get it from the airport like Sprint Cass. Am not promoting for them but price wise is much lower. Warranty & service

  3. [attachmentid=3835]B&H photo check website: http://www.bhphotovideo.com

The price is 199 but after adding freight, the price in Sing no longer attractive. Unless you are there & buy it, yes alot cheaper with some discount.

Bluetin is a bit expensive, $304 dollars from their website. Budget about $250, I can get this price if I buy from USA.

Have PM Stereo for a quote.

Any place in Sim Lim selling?

  4. I think you should audition it for a duration longer than it takes for a guy to take a leak :-) Although I have not listened to this particular model I would say that generally noise cancelling headphones are not as good as IEM plus look at the size of da thing. Reminds me of my Ultrasone HF-650 LOL or a Beyer DT-250.

The guy was kind enulf to let me try for a while. Anyway, i thot it was kind of "big" too, and someone may just take it away while u take a lead  But the big cans :cans: cover the ears nicely & cut off noise effectively. Have to try longer hrs i agree. Cheers!

  5. Hi ppl,

This noise cancelling headphone deserves  !

    [attachmentid=3769]

Ok, while on the way back from Chennai to Sin, there was tis guy that sat beside me was using an AT headphone. I had a chance to ask him wat was it and he told me it is a noise-cancelling headphone ANC7. While he took a lead, i had the opprtunity to try it.

Damn, tis close-back cans just blew me away. The ambience noise just disappear wen i turn on the noise-cancelling feature! I was especially amazed with the lows & hi-mid, it just hold-on so well.

    Sound quality: 9/10

    ease of use: 9/10

    accessories 10/10 (c/w with a/c adaptor & pouch)

    Hi: 8.5/10

    Hi-mid: 9.5/10

    lo-mid: 9/10

lo: 9.5/10 (movie sfx is awesome!)

price: 8/10 (cheaper than Bose Q2)

I have a Senn PX250, looks like i am going to sell it & get tis ANC7.

    regards,

    bt

  6. Dear headphones ppl,

Am huge fan of small headphones, inner ear & bud type. Recently my CK5 becomes faulty on one-side (no sound), not knowing why, thou I did not stress the cable.

Bring to AT-Sg & they were quite reluctant to exchange with me thou its within ONE yr warranty as stated on the box. Am getting the after sales service due to me or am just asking too much? I got my CK5 repaired instead.

I would like to noe from the others how the Shure, AKG, sennhieser work for you if u have a faulty earphone sent for repair. One to one exchange? Or repair? Lets say is within ONE yr warranty.

Thk you for yr attention. :helpsmilie:

  7. Hi I am new at this forum. Currently looking to buy either the above 2 headphones for use with my PSP, laptop and handphone. Could someone with experience of the above comment on my choice please.

BTW, I value beautiful smooth high frequencies and midrange in my headphone

    Thanks

I have used b4 the em9d (no different between the D or R, just choices) on my old PSP, and i find that the low-mid freq is especially well tight & control. When i play my favorite chemical brothers or prodigy tracks, it lacks the low-bass. Hi-mid is smooth if u listen to jazz, but hi is abit dull.

If u wear spectacles, the ear-clip may not be comfortable for long hrs usage.

  8. hi, just to share with you guys that Akira showroom at Toh Guan TT Intl has AT products. They even have demo sets for testing, not bad! While checking out stuff, i came across an AT iR cordless, i think model is CL550. I wore it and was total amazed at the sound quality and the SRS WOW effects, damn good! I guess user of PS2 & XBOX gamers would love tis product, to my opinon.

Wat amazed me was the clear hi-mid, as compared to my philip iR, it was not as good!

Well, thinking of getting one already......

Looks great. Where can I buy it and how much does it cost?

U can buy it from Sim Lim Hung Bros or causeway point stereo electronics. I have the ES5 but the ES7 has very nice low-mid. Electronic music lover will nap with tis headphones straight away! :cans:

  10. yes two solid two years. I bought a Shure E2C from Audio Performance in Sim Lim Square and it failed on me ( wire snapped) after a year plus of use. Just send it down to local service center with invoice and you will get the warranty service. Pretty fast and swift service. Takes only 1 week to service it and back with a brand new pair.

I am really not "shure" if u can get a warranty for wire snapped

Usually warranty (Limited) will cover things like faulty driver, one-side no sound, unbalanced output, things like that but wire snap? If its user fault, still can get warranty? Interesting......

  11. ok... actually i thought of starting a thread on my 1st impression but since you asked here, i'll ans here.... all my comparison for im716 is on bass mode. ipod nano rockbox, custom DIY Canare IC and GOvive v5

compare to ck9, ck9 bass is less prominent. im716 bass had a much greater impact and im716 is a faster phones to my ears... but im716 bass can't be eq too much. distortion will easily settle in if eq is a little too much. But ck9 bass is really clean and can eq to a heavy level without distortion.

mid part, ck9 wins totally hands down on warmth. it just so warmth for me. i love it. think only E4 can be compare. im716 feel recess in this area. about the details, im716 will win by a small margin.

treble part is the weak point of ck9... it doesn't extend far as compare to im716 or sf5pro. but still far better than um1, um2, d-jays.

overall, i think ck9 is a very value for $ IEM... not that i do not like im716. both is good to my ear. i'll rotate both for different uses. effectively, i'm have 3 different IEM in hand. im716 HD, im716 Bass and ck9.

I believe those who saw & tested ck9 will be wondering why no specs on Frequency Response? Call AT singapore & they me told is the design "balanced armature", that cannot be compare to normal earbud/IEM type. They say they will expect some technical input from Japan soon to explain balanced armature.

Anyway, i believe ck9 can be EQ to taste, as mention by tis user. I rather not suffer from hearing fatigue.

Will get mine from hung bros tis weekend & hopefully get some discounts.....

  12. i will go down next week after my exams to try. haha. hmm..if it sounds like the ER6i, then i think i'm going to be very disappointed when i try it. personal preference, i've tried the ER6i and other etys before. totally hated the sound. so clinical and sterile. to me, personally, the um2 are musical. hmm...will let you all know when i try. though now i'm a bit sian already. haha.

Hi, if u like extended low-bass, like listening to Moby, u will love the ck7 for the nice 80 - 100Hz response. :cans:

  13. *pokes Aron*

    Tell leh :D

Hi guys, ck9 is new, u probably have seen or tested the ck6. Anyway, am also waiting for Sim Lim retailer to supply soon so that i can get another one for my gf.

My comments on ck9 after 2weeks, hi-mid seems better & mellow sounding. Wen new, it was quite bright.

I have been pumping my chemical brothers music into it.

  14. Hi, has anyone tried audio-technica ES7? I am getting it for my wife.

Someone told me that it has a damn good low-bass! Very well controlled!

User out there, pls share yr comments. Thks!

Btw, the shiny surface can doubled as a mirror, my wife vain pot la..... :))

  15. Looks a lot like a Shure to me. Well, it's what the Japanese are best at. :D

Anw, topic shifted to portable forum as suggested by aaron.

Thk u guys, i new la.

Am not sure whether Singapore has it yet but may wanna checkout Sim Lim Sq electronic retailshop.

  16. [attachmentid=3679][attachmentid=3680]

Hi, am new in this forum. Before I get "kick out" (no pun intended) of the forum, thot i share some views of this new product from AT.

I just got a ck9 audio-technica from Japan & would like to share some comments about this earbud type headphones which they call "balanced Armature headphones.

    here are the specs:

    30ohms impedance

    input pwr 3mW

    o/p is 104dB/mW

    Y-cord

    5g.

Strange thing is, there is no frequency response data. Have ask ATJ but no response from them yet. Will update the forum.

    Now, sound wise. Mmmm..... :cans:

I still prefer ck7, nice low-mid. My music type range from classical to down-tempo acid jazz, and i find the ck9 handles the low-mid well but not enulf "punch" . Basically very flat, nice hi-mid (handles high SPL well) and clean low-mid (not muddy). I wore the earphones while on the way back to Singapore from Japan, and i must say it is very comfortable. I slept thru with my favourite "kevin kern" music.

Wat else can i say, get one & experience for yrself la. Price: $280.00 (from Japan)

    Design: 10/10

    Sound: 9/10

    Value:7/10 (expensive man!)
