  1. Interesting..... any what player will that be?

Great input bros. Thanks. Even before buying the Classic, I already know rhat it is not a great sounding MP3 player. My wife has a 4th gen - and the sound is nowhere compared to my Sony. With the new Wolfson chip on the 6th gen, it is not helping at all.

But is there any other player in the market that can offer this for ~s$350?

    -80gb

-~30 hrs battery life on music

-~6hrs battery life on video (tested and proven!)

And not to mention the look...though that's really secondary..

    :shifty:

  2. err...this is not a MO leh

    lol...

Anyway, the X-1 is reserved. Buyer collecting it 1st week of March.

Well, unless he "let go aeroplane"... if not, it's his.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay... the buyer just "let go the aeroplane".... darn...

    It's open for sale again...

  3. nice. price wise. wads the difference? around the same?

Price... you won't complain about it... worth the buy....

    this is from OVC ?

Design and specs are the same, but the sound is slightly different.

Like what Uncle Wilson said, the improved version of TC20.

But it's not from OVC. Search the forum and you will know the story behind it.

  4. Good news!!!

The CrossRoads MylarOne Earphone has arrived @ Jaben this afternoon.....

It has a stronger bass compared to TC20. Nice...

It does not have the CrossRoads logo on the earphone, but rather the word CrossRoads on it.

The packaging is the same as OVC TC20, except is red and black...oh, with English wording of course.

Oh... the Bi-flange does not come with it hor... :D

  5. Oh, by the way, just to add a point: a max of 20mW is rather powerful, considering that your typical bud rated at 16ohm and 95dB/mW theoretically reaches 95dB even at 5% power. The recommended safe hearing level is usually 80~85dB.

If you're using good IEMs, the efficiency is usually higher, about 110dB/mW, with impedance of maybe 32ohms.

    Just do the math.

And I doubt you're going to find earphones with less then 16ohms easily.

    kevyan, you're using iAudio X5?

:D Yeah... I'm using the iAudio X5L. I love the sound it produce on my TC20 and ES5

  8. Dear Kevyan

It seem that the review does not speak well of your ES5 lei. Well i personally does not like the PX200 due to the weak bass output but since i am more into vocal & jazz, ES5 may not be a good choice too. Maybe i should stay with the PX100 even though it is less detailed than the PX200.

Any inputs for Koss Portapro? How does it match against the PX100? I believe a good headgear should have the mid of px100 & tight bass of ES5 & WARMNESS of AKG 81P :))

    Well.... it's a review.

I read a few reviews and I still go ahead with ES5. I must say that I have no regrets buying it. I like the sound it produce, good clarity, the mid and high is good, though the bass may not be as strong as some wanted, but I agree with 'scottiebabie', it does has a decent bass.... you should try it (but oh.... mine is already burn in, so it sound much better now). To sum it up, I feel ES5 sound is clean to me, well.... I must repeat that.... clean TO ME.

havnt heard the px100 (its an open can btw) but despite the lack of love for the ATH ES5 here, i personally like it quite a bit. its closed (cuts out quite abit of ambiant noise), very dynamic, good clarity and decent bass extention/impact with very pleasant highs. IMO the ES5 is very musical with a ever so slight emphasis on mid range so its good with vocals2.

if theres a bug, its the comfort issue for me. the headband is basically a coiled metal band wrapped in plastic and is held on ur head by the force of the coiled metal band. the pro is that the headband doesnt have to touch (hence wont mess up ur hair  ) the top of the head at all. the downfall is that the headband is basically non adjustable. after a while, i do feel the pressure on the ears  .

otherwise, the ES5 is bulletproof in build quality. makes a great alternative to the ksc75 IMO.

ps:IMO burn-in smooths out the treble quite abit.

Hi scottiebabie, the ES5 is actually adjustable, not by the normal way of pulling the headband but by rotating the housing. If you find it pressing too hard on your head, what you can do is to stretch it.

For the first few days, I stretch my ES5 by stretching it and hanging it on my ironing board, after a few days, it begin to loosen up. Now, it feels much better, at time, you will not know you are wearing it.
