SR60 and MS1 will not block any sound at ALL, in fact you'd have to turn the volume waaay up to hear anything.

You see, that's the weird thing, it was a DAC. But the hissing noise is increasingly annoying and unbearable.

Hi is anybody here using the ZVM? When I audtioned a pair of SR80s and MS-1s at Jaben, I noticed that the hissing is very obvious, and I'm not referring to when the backlight/screen is on. I get the hissing even with the screen off, playing WAV songs. MY Creative EP630s weren't clear enough at first to reproduce the hissing, but it is noticeable after realizing the presence of the hissing. After using a DAC the sound is also more noticeable, and can get rather annoying when listening for prolonged periods. Is every ZVM like that, or is it just mine? Is mine faulty? Cheers

Hmm I do think the ep630s give extreme value for money, but after you mentioned it, I do realize the sound is a tad on the muddy side... After tweaking the EQ, the SQ is not bad

Hi, I don't really know much but why don't you consider the Senn CX300s, or the Creative EP-630s? Apparently they are the exact same ones, but don't take my word for it. I own a pair of EP-630s, they give good bass and provide above average isolation, but the price! I got them for $35 at Challenger only, or $32 for members

Hi sghound, thanks for your reply I was looking at Grado SR60s, read a lot of positive reviews about them. MBD at Adelphi seems to carry it? 32 ohm impedance as well, and i checked, the ZMP's rating is 32 ohms, enough to drive the sr60s. But I was wondering, is a headphone amp really necessary to boost SQ?

Hi all I'm new to this audiophile business, and was thinking of getting full-sized cans to listen at home. The source would be my Creative Zen Microphoto player, or my Dell laptop (horrible soundcard). Since I'm a student, I don't have much to spend on a good set of cans, or a high-grade CDP (although I do have a Rotel spinner, and a Denon amp, but I can't use them at the moment). Budget for cans would be about $140? And would I need a headamp to go along with the cans? I'm considering changing my sound card as well, any PCMCIA/USB suggestions?
