ULTRASONE Edition 8 Palladium (closed back headphones)
Price: $sold
Condition: NIB, rarely used, complete package
Here is one of the best closed back headphones made for audiophiles which retails for over $2,100.
The headband (is adjustable) and earcups are made of Ethiopian sheepskin leather.
Outer ear cups are plated with finely processed and brushed Palladium.
On top, the outer ear cups are emblazoned with a clasp of high tech ceramic.
As it's also designed for portable use in mind, the low impedance drivers make it
easy to drive off iPhones and iPods, but also scale very well when amped.
The headphones also comes with an extension cable and 5.25" adapter for home listening
and leather bag for storage and transportation.
Comes with receipt/box/warranty paperwork.

does Stereo carry Ear sonics here?
-
Hi,
Anyone got any recommendation?
Should be in-ear for tighter fit
-
is it possible to buy the hard case separately?
if so, how much?
-
Good amp+DAC combos all have the ability to shut down the DAC section totally when the DAC is not in use. The battery savings shouldnt be substantial.
If you are are lookin for small amps, check out the Xin super micro too. Its even smaller than the mustang.
Pico should cost about 700sgd, sometimes Jaben carries it, but at a premium i guess. You got to loan it from someone to audit it, and cheapest way is to buy from headamp direct.
Wah 700sgd, thats about the same price of the iQube.
Ok, I'll check out the Xin, its a China audio company right?
EDIT: looks like the SuperMicro can only last 7-9hrs, cos it only allows 1 AAA batt.
-
The last time I left, they were running-in the IE8 and ESW10 24hrs daily unless auditioning in process.
Do these isolate or seal well, especially the IE8?
-
Camera shops do sell those things called desiccants, and you could use a film roll case to store your IEMs.
Hehe, film roll container is a bit too small, I want to store other things like spare eartips also.
I think a Pelican Micro would be nice...

What's the Xmas promo price??
I was told the W3s are sold out already.

Why don't you look at Pico as well. It comes with or without dac. I actually prefer it over Mustang as it's sound fuller and warmer with an excellent mid.
I'm actually leaning towards the Mustang now due to its smaller size and favorable reviews with the cans im using.
Also looking at the iBasso T4, which is even thinner and said to be able to drive even a HD650 decently.
How much is the Pico going for? Is it available in sg?
Unfortunately, theres no place i can find which have all the amps that I can audition.
After reading for the past few days, I guess I don't require a dac anymore, just amp will do.
I believe without dac feature, it will cut down on battery usage also.

i tried the Aron 780s and though it sounded good, my ipod would randomly skip or distort for no apparent reason.
i thought perhaps the track was corrupted, so i rebooted and tried with the stock model, it plays smoothly throughout.
i switched back again to the modded ones, listening for about 10mins, it started skipping elsewhere, never at the same spot.
could the modded phones be too hard to drive unamped by my ipod?
-
Ok guys, Im quite leaning towards the Mustang now as it is chargeable through USB with its built-in Li-on batt.
Since it does not have a DAC, i guess a mini-mini interconnect could
be good enough since I don't EQ my music on the iPod also.
I wonder how long can the iQube last with the 4xAA.
@palestofwhite
Do you own any Westone IEMs / Ultrasone cans?
What do you think of the sound when using the Mustang?
-
I believe they're of similar properties. No harm using Silica packs or crystals.
hmm, cool thanks palestofwhite
perhaps its time to improvise something out first.
need to buy a small jewelry box that is also airtight...

Does anyone know what portable amps are offered in SE?
I'm tempted to venture into adding amps to my setup for the first time
after years of listening to portables unamped.
Would like to find out the price range of portable amps like RSA Mustang or iBasso
so I can work out a budget for it.
Preferably buy a good one so that it'll last me for awhile, also be have usb so i can connect through
my PC.
Also, for the interconnect, Im using iPod Touch, is it important to buy one that is mini-plug to iPod dock connector
or mini-plug to mini-plug type? I'm guessing the mini-plug/mini-plug cable will still go through the DAC stage of
the iPod, which is not needed if the amp is also a dac, right?
Having said that, do portable amps come interconnects also?
-
What do you mean "when not in use"?
duh, when im using full-sized cans, i need to store my iems somewhere.
instead of letting them disintegrate from the moisture, i thought the "drybox" would
be ideal storage to keep them in top condition.
is there any difference between the so called dry crystals that westone uses
and the silicant beads that are found in camera shops?
-
Hi all,
Does anyone know where to get those containers or boxes with dry crystals that are made for you to store IEMs?
I think with the humid weather in sg, it'll be good place to keep them when not in use.
Appreciate if anyone knows where to get such accessories.
