Today went down to SE to check out the prices, thinking that it wont cost more than um56 as it was quoted early on. But to my horror, it was much more expensive than um56. That prices that was quoted by the staff there was even more than livewires. Currently I'm saving for UE triple fi 10 pro. Saw this post and was wowed by the reshelling thing as triple fi looks weird. So maybe re-shelling will look better. But by adding the price of Triple fi 10 pro + re-shelling + adding an addition driver cost a bomb. Might as well add a couple more hundred to get UE11pro. Maybe the staff explain to me wrongly or i misunderstood him. But if the price listed is correct, might as well get livewires or even ue10pro. Sorry if I sounded offensive. Haha.
are you sure? not that i side Stereo, just that i feel their price is always on the lower side and with great service....

Tested both the w3 and um3x today at stereo
i must say that both sound awsome
The transparancy of the um3x is superb, very clean sounding
but in the end i still went home with westone3
cos i feel that westone 3 sound fuller....
anyway.. its just me

Currently looking at Westone UM1.Im looking to hook it up to my Ipod Touch.I heard that UM1 is not that bassy but more importantly i watch movies on my touch and would the UM1 give me the "cinematic" feel?Or are there other alternatives that is less than $150?i listen to rock and metal music so is the um1 a good fit?thanks
hm.... for movie , i would suggest to go for something like sony or sennheise model
they do have very decent earphone at your $150 range
not that the um1 not good, just that single amature driver usually only good in the mids and highs
my 2cent

do try out the denon earphones
the bass performance is not too bad
theres 1 just below $100
If i am not wrong, its the AH-C551

any bang for the money amp?
have abt 300$ to spend, anyone care to share some model that i can look into?
Thanks alot, still very new to audio stuff... need lots of advise from u guys
-
hm.. just wondering... are u using the same player and mp3 for the both um1?
-
did try out at SE the esw9
its sound so much warmer then Grado sr80, able to listen much longer period of time
but then again... i still prefer the sound of grado
back to topic, headphones will aways sound better then earphones
soundstage, layering is much more better and natural
if you dont mind the size, go for it
