Not sure Hirahara, but when i borrowed the single off my friend, i remember it says "Jupitar" and a japanese words below. Ask my friend and he says her name is Ayaka. Is that same singer? Some of the rest like those you mentioned...only some..have the name ayaka on the single, this one i remember because do not have the ayaka english name on the cd cover.

Try "Jupiter". Then you can also hear how she powerfully " breathe" the song. But you might not be able to easily get it as its her 1st single.

ayaka. great vocals that the local pressings dont do much justice to her voice. considering to buy her japanese pressings

sadly she has retired for the moment due to her illness, got almost all her discography is jap pressed.

IMO, wav lossless sounds better than alac

He's not using alac. AIFF is the same as wav, more commonly used on mac due to fcp, logic studio etc.

Must learn about digital audio from you guys. I still belong to the LP and CD generation In other words, I am from the "You mean the drawer in the CDP is not a cup holder!"

If possible get a dac with optical in instead since mac comes with optical out/in nowadays which gives better latency.

Did you upsample your optical out?

Now I'm getting interested. Can I confirmed that your music library is in your iMac and the music is stream wifi to the apple tv device which has optical audio out to your amp?

 

Can the music library be stored into apple tv itself and play direct from apple tv without the iMac?

 

If music are stored in the apple tv, does it sync with the iMac (or PC in my case) as well as sync with iPhone?

 

Apple TV is quite an expensive investment, airport express is more affordable for me.

 

Surfing some of the site also makes me worried about the "fate" for apple tv product line. Not sure is Apple interested venturing deeper into this product line. Could apple tv be on it end of life cycle soon?

Yes the apple TV can both be streamed or stored inside it's internal HDD and played without a mac. An iPhone can works as a wireless remote through wifi, it won't sync with your iPhone library.

I'm using an apple TV out to a DAC streamed from my mac, no intermittent skip or what so ever. It's better investing on an apple TV since it's price have been slashed by half.
