    Selling my precious rig!

     

    iBasso D3 Python

    with both silver and black casing, as well as box and spare thumb screws and stock 3.5mm to 3.5mm interconnect.

    no batteries included. there is a black velcro stripe at the bottom of the black casing for easy attachment to your iPod

    The D3 has similar sounds as the newer D4, and has longer battery life because it uses 5 AAA instead of a single 9V battery, reducing the need to charge the player. It can be used as a standalone amp, standalone DAC, and amp+dac together!

     

    Ultimate link (Z1000 equivalent as far as I know)

    This is an early prototype Ultimate link cable that was never put on sale. The ultimate link marking as faded off already after one year of use, and there are scratches on the LOD area. If i am not mistaken this IC has the same cable as Ultimate Link Z1000 worth $299? Not sure, someone please confirm.

    3 weeks of no earphone is nth compared to eternal bliss. Or compare that with the 4mnths that my fren nid to wait to get his customs from that other local retailer..

     

    I used es2 cable with my superfi5pro when it was still a universal as well. All i can say is that it is so much better than the ue one. It may seem slim and filmsy, but the sound is fantastic and becos of its very light weight and flexible nature, no microphonics and u wont feel that yr superfi has any cables at all.

     

    My pervious es2 cable use 2years le i think. No sign of untwirling.

     

    3 weeks of no earphones.. i think cannot tahan :cry:

     

    the es2 cables look like their sort of two wires twirled together? is it sturdy or might it even 'untwirl'?

    It's a new es2 cable.. Perhaps that can be the cause?

     

    The process took me about 3 weeks if I am not wrong.

     

    The other day in the library I put on my customs and realize that even volume one on my iPod touch is abut too loud for me. Lol.

    after 3 more weeks of further listening to my reshelled superfi5pro, I am shock to notice that the "muffled" characteristic in the sound has completely disappear. Since those drivers are existing drivers from my ancient superfi5pro, does not make sense to say they have burnt in right? Maybe my ears have burnt in to my customs, or simply that I have gotten used to the sound.

     

    Whatever the case, I am happy to say that I am very pleased with the sound signature right now... wheeee....

     

    and its damn good tool to use when studying in noisy areas like smu concourse etc, flooded with irritating jc kids pretending to prepare for their promos or alevels but actually chatting away like a macdonalds party.

    after listening intensely to my reshelled superfi5pro, here is my input on this..

     

    the change in sound is significant. Strangely, the sound seems further away than when using the universal with complys. While I certainly can hear more detail, it no longer sounds like my superfi5pro that I had loved.

     

    I also notice that there are slight dent on the body of 1 driver on each side of my custom. Perhaps there was slight damage during the reshelling process?

     

    However, overall, SQ is still pretty good coming from just a reshelled superfi5pro, but the (increased) bass can sometimes be abit muddy, different from the original superfi5pro where the bass was less and tighter. This may be due to the difference in seal.

     

    Still, having a custom this cheap and giving new life to my old superfi5pro was certainly cool and many thanks to aron for bringing us this service.

     

    The comfort level of the customs is unbeatable and certainly beats spending big bucks buy foams (complys). (I can now lie on my bed and roll around while using my reshelled superfi5pro, which was not possible with the universal superfi5pro.

     

    At least for me, no regret in getting it!

    forget about the UM56 or doing anything else to yr um1... unless u really really love it..

     

    the money could be better spent on getting /upgrading to a better pair of iems and u would get a much more performance for the buck.

     

    Then when u are ready, go stereo to reshell yr universal at stereo...

     

    um56 is v extra and inelegant solution.

    Single or dual bores depends on the brand and model of reshell, so some brands reshelled in dual bores while some are single. I guess it was designed to matched the original sound of the universal.

    I meant that you came later to collect so I had time to grab my camera to shoot a picture but as of the rest, them came almost within 30mins.... :thumbup:

     

    wah. they must be camping at the mrt station waiting for your phone call.. haha.. u called me in the midst of my lesson i was deciding whether or not to pick up the phone lol

    LOL.. you choose the same colour as me. I tot no one will choose the same colour as me.

     

    yrs was the previous batch right?

     

    when I was choosing colours aron showed me yours i think. Then i sort of like this colour combi hahahaha.

     

     

    (a friend saw me with the customs and ask if I have hearing disorder !!! :P)

     

    mannn everyone reshelling! Makes me super tempted too >.<

    Don't know what happen to the logo... maybe he sell back to logitech for rebate? :D

     

    Got pink customs but didn't managed to get any of them before I got my hands on them, you came late therefore I had time.

     

    maybe in future can ask them mould it into the custom or smth! will look cool! :P (for semi transparent customs)

    also like a good sort of reminds pple of their dear old universal which was slaughtered hahaha
