  7. My apology for not replying to most of the mails asking to sell the components separately. It's too much of a hassle to sell piece by piece at the moment as I'm really tied up with work; that's why I'm selling to begin with. Most of the components and cables are well reviewed and I've attached the system image. The components are well matched as a system for classical or acoustic music. There are no scratches or dinks that I'm aware of and have very low usage. Thanks.

  10. Check out this review http://www.head-fi.org/t/571005/the-panaso...-than-the-hd650
  11. Check out HRT music streamer series of USB DAC.
  12. Bought a budget audiophile USB cable a few weeks ago and finally unpacked and setup my headfi system in the office during lunch. The improvement in SQ is quite obvious...interest regained. At least for now.
  13. Main thing is that they sound good even with good budget amps. Back to phones, I may experiment with USB cables on my USB Dac and phone cables for fun if I have time during the holiday season...sometimes, the fun is in tinkering around...
  14. I know what you mean. I listen mainly to acoustic jazz, chamber and vocals, so reproducing the mid range realistically is most important for me; hence my choice of Harbeth speakers. Anyway, as you pointed out, the cost of reproducing full range accurately will be insane for most.
  15. I'm actually referring more to a preference for speaker over headphone system. Beyond personal preference, sometimes good phones or speakers can sound mediocre due to system mismatch.
  16. I waited for the HD800, thinking the very open soundstage with the warmth of a decent tube amp will get me nearer to my Harbeth...good as it is, I still prefer to listen to my speaker system.
  17. I already have a family. My son's room was my hifi room, so my system is now in living room sharing space with AV system...meaning I can't play when someone is playing wii games, watching starhub tv or when I'm home too late...
  18. My phone has been programmed not to ring unless a call is transferred to me...you think think I have a choice if I were to keep my job?
  19. I was obsessed with my speaker system for awhile; trying to tweak it to perfection, but working long irregular hours in a new role at the office meant I couldn't spend much time with them. Then I thought an office headphone system will solve the problem, so setup a HD800 & WA6 in my room driven by a HRT DAC streamed from my notebook. However, seems like I rarely finish a single tune before my phone rings or someone comes knocking; forcing me to stop. I slowly lose interest and now both systems are just sitting there... There only system which I get to listen to regularly seems to be my stock car stereo...sigh
  20. I like the Pico and had it for a few months. However, unless compactness matters or need the DAC integrated with an amp, the HRT line of USB DAC is on another league. I'm using their Music Streamer II+ ordered online.
  21. Just unpacked from storage and setup up in my office today. Media Player: iTune with lossless format Source: Music Streamer II+ Amp: WA6 (PDPS & Princess Sophia Rectifier tube) Headphone: HD800 Interconnect: Anti-IC The rest of cables are generic found in the office but will look into upgrading them plus some isolation devices later. The sound is full bodied even with the HD800, which is a good start (I hate thin edgy sound). I think dynamics is good but I'm sure can be a improved with the upgrades mentioned.
  22. May I know who long did you guys have to wait for your HD800's FR test certificate after you mailed in the warranty card?
  23. Mine is the regular PDPS version but with Princess Sophia tube upgrade. Agree that the WA5 looks delicious... I've only log less than 40 hrs on the combo so far and have only one headphone, so really hard to form a reliable opinion. It doesn't sound much like a traditional tube amp at all; quite fast and extended. Fortunately, the harmonics and texture are well communicated like a good tube amp. Quite hard to pin down your ZD's sound signature that day. Firstly, I think the CA CDP is too dry and your ZD is like a chameleon; sounding very different with different phones; I like it best with the PS1 (tonally balanced and fluid) and least with GS1000 (grainy, edgy & thin). We should do another small meet:) What happen to your DAC3?
  24. Felt the same way about the Lehmann too; pretty sterile, although the source seems pretty decent at the launch. Still burning in mine, but sounded promising at 20 hrs on the WA6; at least harmonics is intact (unlike the Lehmann) and tonal balance seems pleasing. There seems to be a bit of edge on some female vocals & deep male vocals are not as sonorous as on my Harbeth. Hi Yotiao, Very informative review. How does the PS1000 compare to your PS1? I remember your PS1 has a really liquid midrange.
