  1. GP acoustics is the agent for NAD and at Aldephi its their showroom. I think you can also get NADs at Sim Lim Square, one of the shop selling is Alpha Audio, ground floor, the agent for Musical Fidelity.
  2. I bought at S$405 at GP Adelphi last December. Believe not much changes.

    PX100

I got the KSC-35 recently through the power buy. So I used it once over the weekends in a saloon while waiting for my wife for her hair-do. That is the time I felt that an open headphone just dun work to my satisfaction at that type of noisy environment. I am not complaining about the performance but the outside noise is just to interfering. So I bought a PX200, somebody letgo in this forum. I have a HD280pro, which is really good in terms of isolation but is just too big for weekends. Just to share my experience.
  4. New Headroom portable headphone amp. Advertised in Stereohile Nov issue. The advertisement is now available in headroom website, but not much details yet. Runs on 4 AA batteries, 2 headphone outputs, clipping indicator, audio image processor switch, a much nicer apparence. Cheers!
  5. I owned a Kimber mini to mini, but was quite disappointed by the quality of the mini connectors used. Sound wise no time to do serious A/B, but IMHO may not worth all the money and efford to bring in from USA. Not really value for money for that price at Headroom.
  6. Not sure I am in the same frequency. N@Z, are you considering HD280pro?
  7. Sound Devices HX-3 headphone amp with AC Adaptor / Hungs Brother / $631.32
  8. Any body knows the headphone jack is 1/4 inch TRS or minijack?

    HD 280

I am using HD280pro on the move via a headphone amp and Philips PCDP. I have tested the HD280pro with the Philips PCDP at my office without a headphone amp. I used HUGO Tasting Loneliness for the first time track 4 and Chai Qin Min Ge Track 8 (test bass) and track 10. To me the performance is OK. Definitely better than the stock ear phone. The volumn is only at level 6 (out of 10). However I remember last time when I use it for classical music I need to turn the volumn to almost 9. The potential problem if you are driving the HD280pro directly from PCDP could be the batteries will be drained faster than lower impedance headphone. HD280pro is rated at 64ohms.
  10. I felt otherwise regarding HD600. Maybe it needs a good headphone amp to deliver its full potential, to me could be more details and texture in the highs and the lows. However, I ever try it on discman direct and surprisingly it is definitely listenable. At home I listen to my HD600 using the headphone jack provided by my Bryston BP25 preamp and it sounds very good to my standard.
  11. Hi! No problem for me for the price. I sent a PM to you.
  12. Well, MX500 is well suited for classical music, and i understand the other MX models may tend to emphasis the bass for pop and rock music. However I have not listened to those, and personally I owned and used a MX500. To me the bass of MX500 thought not strong but are real and well suite to my taste, where I like music in its natural form and I do not fancy strong bass.
  13. Hi! Vulpix, is it too late to count me in? 1 unit. Thanks.
  14. Hi! Can you guys out there share your opinions on Philips PCDP? No partidular model in mind. Thanks.
  15. I am using a pair of MX500 also and when I first use it I am straight away impressed by the sound of the headphone. In my opinion this pair of earphone is designed for listening to classical music, thus the presentation is more neutral and thus for those who like rocks and heavy bass not to their taste. If you are a classcal music fan MX500 will most likely suit your taste.
  16. Build quality is only average, for that price. The electronics is not very rugged mechanically. If the amp is not secured properly on the move, the movement of the cables and the headphones cables can create noise/distorsion in the headphone. Also when adjusting the volumn can hear the noise/distorsion also, though not a very loud one for both cases. The frequency reponse seems also vary in characteristics at different amplification level, and I found the characteristics most neutral at about 50% amplification. Also you cannot use external power supply while the 9V alkaline is still in the amp. So I upgrade to Sound Devices HX-3, running on 2 AAs, built for commercial application, very rugged but at about 4 times the price of Rolls.
  17. Selling Rolls HA204 S$85 firmed.
