I have a close friend whose e3c's nozzle got broken 3 times..

    In 2 years...

SO maybe u guys should try to avoid it, or we are getting a bad production line, who knows?

I didn't have any issues with my E3c when I was still using thoes. Well the E4c's have replaceable nozzles so no issues here. :P

  3. Sorry if i sounds noob. Coz i've never heard there's such expensive IEM arounds. LOL

Headphones, yes i understand but IEM... its so small yet so expensive. LOL

Haha.. The 'ínverse' law applies. The smaller the thing, the more expensive it is. :P

Actually there is a newer model E500 which is retailing about $8xx.

Well there are sme other custom IEM that costs twice of E500. ;)

  4. do the cable suffer the same poor quality one as ex70? tt will really be an issue, isn't it... cost so much yet quality buangz...

After owning several pairs of EX70 and 71, I doubt Sony will ever improve its build quality. Been using Shures the past 2 years and the cable quality is superb. I don't mind paying slightly more for better build quality which I feel is a good investment.

  5. hi, happen to agree with Mackie on that point. i find myself turning to my md when listening to classical and jazz. albeit the cd player sounds as good, but mine pcdp is like 11 yrs old and is not portable at all so still rely on my md player.

as for whether md sound reproduction is better, think to put that in context, i use my md recorder for my gigs and the quality of the live recording surpasses the recording on my U3 by miles.

argh, someone has an MZ-NH1?! if you ever want to get rid of it ..... i happen to think it's ultra sexy ..... would love to adopt it from you.

I do have one still in relatively pristine condition. A bit collecting dust nowdays. :P

PM me if you're interested. :)

  6. Was it a newly acquired pair? My E500 sounded like that the first week or so I had it. It was only in the second or third week when the sound really started to shine.

Huh? You mean E500 needs a 'burn in'. I thought it's using armature drivers. Tecninically no need to burn-in right?

  7. I donno dude... MD just seems dead. Why not go back to CD player?

BTW what's hi md? Hifi MD deck?

A Hi-MD is a relative new MD that is able to hold about 1GB of data in one disk. It's also backward compatiable with the old MDs but only achieving about 300MB of data. I do have the 1st generation Hi-MD flagship model MZ-NH1. The SQ is simply superb compared to my 5G iPod. Too bad I only use occassionally nowdays.

  8. Used this when I brought the CANs to camp(SR80 not this 325i's)

Got these at Popular for less than 5 bucks. My friends thought it costs a lot more. wink.gif

  9. Me? I just leave it connected to my mini compo each night when I go to sleep and tune it to a radio station and leave the volume at listening levels.

You mean that you do not burn-in the cans throughout the day?

It better with an amp if not from PCDP headphone out.

    Ok point taken. laugh.gif

  10. Just bought the Grado SR-325i just now and it's burning-in time. Is it better to burn in the cans using an amp or straight from the source?

I don't have a CDP yet so most likely using my PCDP via line out.

    Comments please. Thanks biggrin.gif
