Check for your cable sleeve, if it has words that is "RG-59" then it should be 75ohm. By the way the impedance is 'characteristic impedance', not the impedance(resistance) that you can measure with multimeter directly, but determined by the material, diameter etc, and no matter how long it will still be 75ohm characteristic impedance. (Of course the longer the stronger the noise interference)

Good thread..it is so cold here.. Didn't realize that resistor do affect the sound signature..I though that as long as it is accurate it will be fine.. So what is the type for those Sim Lim Tower resistors? You may add in potential meter into the list..

Looks like you got the same choices as mine.. CDP you may go down to Adelphi to have a good listen.. What ical recommended should be a great choice.. On last headphone meet I was impressed by the sound of Astin Trew..

You need a big headphone.. I have ESW10 as well, but no matter how poison the sweetness of ESW10's mids can't beat the higher fidelity sound of my big headphone DT990..you may consider any one of big headphones..DT990, HD650, K701, etc.. For the music source, I leave this to the Masters in this forum...How much is your budget? CDP will never die..even vinyl is living well..for music server you may need to buy high quality audio record like from Linn Records, or search for "ahem" to download..

Good case work..It looks it need a lot of measuring and drilling work to do.. Yes..Looks like the tube and socket don't come cheap and easy.. The resistors looks big size for higher wattage.. So the schematics is for one stage amplification for one channel? Rectifying to DC required from transformer? The amp have 4 transformer, and the five tubes..So it is just series the different amplification stages? Drive speaker driver just for testing? Sorry newbie here..

I do wish it can output to my NX-03, and the tube pre-amp is a selling point for me, as last time I was surprised by a tube buffer during the meet. If the buit in amp can surpass NX-03 then I may bang my head on the wall, buy it and sell away NX-03 without doubt. Let's see how the manufacturer solve this issue. If preamp volume is not controlled, it may bypass the volume pot(which may degrade sound quality) I do prefer preamp out is not muted when headphone is plugged in, and so I can do A-B comparing..
