Haha... I like that. Can share the cost of building one portable amp? Actually I have never seen a RA-1 before, just knew that the cost is probably out of my budget... at least for the time being. I hoped to get something that goes easy for my pocket for now... Can anyone tell me what is Meta? Any idea where I can start with?

Hey lengcm, do u have any idea how a clone like RA-1 cost? And the real thing? Rameish, is it really that bad? I mean the amp for Mp3. Is there any alternatives beside RA-1? I have the impression, its not going to come cheap. cmk, thank you for sharing your experience with the Grados. Actually I haven tested any Grados before, just wanted to get a pair of decent cans... And when I saw the forum, there are quite a lot of positive reviews on it. So when Tropicalrips and Rameish org the powerbuy, I tot why not?

Hi pple, I'm a newbie here looking for an amp to drive my soon-to-receive grados. I'm not really sure if there is a need to look for an amp in the first place... just hope that the gurus ard can provide some advise. Some background info, I'm absolutely lost when it comes to amp. The only thing I know about amp is that it drives up the waves...keke (even then I also dun know what is it for). I will be using it for my portable mp3 player (an Iriver) and probably a stationary denon CDP (still pending). I looking for something not too expensive but dun want to compromise my new headphone capability at the same time... Is there any suggestions? Thanx in advance

Hey Joe, my iriver 390 comes with the Iriver earphones. Are u sure its manufactured by Sennheiser? cos its written iriver on it. If I'm not wrong only the 100 series earphones are manufactured by Sennheiser. Moreover my earphones plug is gold plated which is different from the mx300.

He made me the quote n refuse to budge. So i tot he abit unfriendly when he ignore me when I ask for a lower price. But then u know, consumers like us definitely will bargain one what right? Haha... the $1200 earphones u all mentioned aroused some of my past memories. Some years back, I bought a pair of sony earphones, forgotten which model, but rem spending about 60 bucks on it. One day, when I was using the earphones, one of it dropped out of my ears. It went through the gap between my fan and was severed straight away. I was like ... wonder how one will react if its $1200 instead.... keke

Yeah man, I agree with charismatic with the lifestyle thingy. Think sony spent most of its money on marketing... which is really in line with the Jap culture, that is appearance matters most (personal opinion). No one really cares whats going through your ears, so long the gadget looks cool.

Hi pple, jus curious why some of the forum members r so obsessed with the sony MDR-Ex71 when in my opinion the MX500 or the Koss KSC 50 is just as good. In comparison the prices r also much more competitive. Would any of the users like to shed some light?
