  1. Mid-high end model from Chord cables. Transparent and resolving with airy highs. Considered a fast cable but not bright sounding perhaps due to substantial bass weight. Factory terminated with Neutrik XLR plugs. Flexible enough for tight spaces. Long 2m length make it also suitable for lateral placements or monoblocks use. Condition very mint (no box). RRP nearly $800. Asking $480. Please text 9six3 3one269.

  2. Mint condition. Only 1+ year old. Amanero USB implementation. RCA and XLR output. Very capable integrated headphone output that outperforms Yulong’s standalone A28 headamp.

Selling only becuz upgrading. $850. Pls text 9six33 one269.

“Clean and transparent but also very weighty and muscular, with a sound that could very accurately be described as analog.”

“Soundstaging is simply phenomenal - among the absolute best I've heard.”

“Low frequency extension is a definite strength of the DA8. This thing has a certain "drive" that will probably cause people to break out the word ‘analog’ again”

“For a neutral-yet-engaging sound, large and precise soundstage, spectacular texture, subtleties and microdetail, the DA8 is a real winner.”

“USB implementation is top notch. I've never dealt with the Amanero board before but I really like the results it brings.”

“It's worth noting that the DA8 can drive balanced headphones straight from the rear XLR outputs.”

“Those favoring a meatier tonal richness have a blast with the DA8.”

“The D200 wasn’t quite as bold and dynamic as the DA8.”

“DA8 was smoother, more creamy and organic…”

  4. I only started reading up last weekend and two names seem to come up: Schiit Vali and Maverick Audio A1.

I plan to spend no more than $400. Are these the best ones to go for? Any others I should consider?

I came across Racoon SG300 and Xiang Sheng DA-02 but I can't find any review on them. Anyone has views on these?

I plan to connect the amp to my HRT streamer II+ but I won't mind forgoing that if the amp come with built-in DAC.

I got a Grado GS1000 rated at 32ohms. Used to drive it with a Darkvoice 332 but not sure I like the sound.

Any suggestions and advice are welcome!

  5. Bro, your recommendation is always straight to high end stuff. Of course they're good lah. At that price it better be. :bash:

Acrolink Mexcel 7N-DA6300 for you sir? Comes with the new XLR plugs. Look damn solid too. If budget is tight, can just go for the entry 7N-A2500 without breaking the bank. These beats the above cable anytime.

Ahem. Entry level ranges between $2k to $4k per metre? I'm am so not in your league, ical bro. You guys really carry the big guns man. If that's what you pay for cables, makes me wonder what kind of speakers do you use.

  6. Dunno where he got it from. I'm using only a single tube since my amp is DV336. For new tubes, I'll try to get from Tube World. Pay a little more for shipping. For the Tungsol, I guess I just have to wait for the 50 hour mark. <_<

    Quick Update:

I managed to get a good price for a 2nd hand VDH First interconnect (iCal bro's recommendation). The moment I swopped the Nordost with it, I heard a big difference! The bass tightened and sounded very controlled. Separation improved and I was able to distinguish different instruments more clearly, and most of all, guitar notes and vocals sounded much more 3-dimensional and real. While the soundstage didn't extend width wise, it now had more depth. I'm got one big step closer to that sound I was after. Can't wait to hear what it's like when the Tungsol reaches 50 hours.
