These are my initial impressions for my UM6x. Please dont fault me if i use the wrong terms

The bass on my UM6x are much tighter right now. If you compare the original UM3x, the bass is quite flat. I'd say that the bass is somewhere between the W3 and UM3x. One thing I've noticed is that, if you listen to the UM6x at lower levels, the bass can get a tad bloated. But when you really listen on your personal listening level, it gets tighter.

The highs are faster and you really can hear the details of the cymbals crashing as the drumstick hits. I'd say that it's just about right. comparing the highs to the UM3x, it is slightly brighter. But because of the bass, I would think that it evens it out nicely.

The mids are more forward if you're listening to a rock, live or acoustic song. The vocals are really clear as compared to the UM3x. For an electronic song, the vocals are not as forward but I can live with it.

The soundstage is definitely wider and longer in depth. height wise, I think that it is relatively the same. At the moment, those are my impressions

any um3x users here reshelled and added drivers to make it quad or 6 drivers?

i asked UM about their 6 driver custom! it's called the UM Miracle and it retails for 930USD. the driver configuration is a secret they said. they are ready for orders! is stereo gonna have a better offer?

T3 is good for that price range. T4 i think phased out already. if im not wrong, stereo still has their P3+ offer till the end of this month. you might wanna check that out.

They actually have green - you have to ask for it. That being said, communicating with UM can be quite a hassle, so instead of getting green I gave up and got whatever I ordered.

what colour did you get then?

currently using a 80gb ipod classic. i've heard the um3x ampless and i must say its very pleasing. i also tried it with my e5.

went to audition the um3x today. im gonna make a huge jump. currently having very low end buds. so im intending to save up for the um3x. before you ask, i've tried the um1s and w1. but i wanted to go higher after much need pestering from gf who asked me not to waste money.

now my question, on my fiio with the um3x, the jump between each volume point is very high. should i get another amp for the um3x? or go ampless. i dont want a bulky amp. im considering martini, .22 or derringer.
