  1. lol. here it is. adidas x senn http://www.sneakerfreaker.com/newsflash/Adidas-X-Sennheiser

dunno if you'll like it though, seems more guy-ish to me. anyway the hd25-1 II is the sennheiser's flagship portable headphones, quite popular for recommendations, so after pairing up with adidas, it most definitely will look better, and retain its great audio quality.

btw, clamping force from the es7 can be reduced. headband mod, or just clamp it on a thick pile of books over night.

    es7 - mirror

    esw9 - wood

    onto - candy colours

adidas X sennheisers hd25-1 II - sports look? guyish loook? dunno lah

    IEM = In Ear Monitors

basically those small little 'speakers' inserted into the ears instead of headphones being on the ears.

earbuds - stock stuff from ipod

iem - those that look like earbuds but with a stub that goes into the ears, you know those stuff that comes with sony ericsson phones

headphones - you know liao lah

  2. Don't bother trying noise cancelling they only work when you have constant noise

What you need here are custom earplugs

    Price wise I think it's around $100

With those, it'll fit your ear perfectly and block out almost all noise. Comfort and silence :))

and then if you want audio, think of customs like livewires, JHaudio, or just reshell normal universals like sphb did with his um1.

  3. a nice shop would be Jaben at adelphi, nice staff, plenty of headphones to try, and they tend to tell u to take ur time to try. although most of the time ppl get self poisoned and buy on the spot.

DJ and normal ipod headphones, not much of a diff i suppose. they all play music. =D

and ive heard of ortofones, never literally HEARD them so i wouldnt noe. but in any case, u dun rly have to bother about brands.

general rule of thumb : Does it sound good? Do you like it? Do you think its worth the money?

    ALL YES, BUY IT!

  4. Hmm the Denon looks rugged enough for everyday travelling usage, although i've never really tried them. However, do take a look at the Shure ones. I tried the 240, the soundstage was pretty good for a closed headphone, its very comfortable and certainly isolates noise pretty nicely. So for your budget, you could go for the 440, imagine the kind of improvement over the already very nicely built 240. =D

However, 1 bad thing about Shure is that it cannot be folded, so their large. But it really depends on how u wanna compare em with the Denon's. Portability-wise, denon wins. Sonic-capability wise, i wouldn't know, never tried Denon :P

  5. So, i've been looking around for headphones, and until now i still don't really know what i want.

    Basically,

    1) Budget is <$100

    2) Open or closed cans both fine with me

    3) Not in a rush to buy, neither do i mind 2nd hand ones, so go ahead and reco any future ones coming up or sell me urs IF THEY'RE REALLY GREAT

    4) Nearly forgot, they're for portable use.

btw, i won't mind if it has a portable amp thrown in

i listen to... country(taylor swift etc), rock, guns n roses, aerosmith, u2, some coldplay stuff, okay i listen to almost all genres except those drone, heavy metal, that kind of extremes la.

to get the ball rolling, i recently looked at audio technica's ath-sj3, which is really great and almost half of my budget. Also saw the fc700 which was great too. what do you guys think?

btw, if possible, please include price and place to buy for ur reco, will help me a ton. THANKS!:grin::grin:
