  2. Off the top of my head

is it a sizzling sound, or a high pitched starting sound that goes lower? (the former might be bad connection. the latter some form of feedback)

What's the connectors on the canare cable? - i'm assuming rca - try doing a quick continuity test with a multimeter to see if anything that shouldn't have continuity does.

since both channels of the RCA cable are the same, try swapping the connectors of the cheapo RCA cable, and try touching the volume control to see if the same thing happens

try a mini jack -rca connector to narrow down which side the problem is in

    Hi,

Thanks I still trying to narrow down the issues but a little busy with work so... I update here when I have the chance to try out.

  3. Hi Guys,

I really don't know how to resolve this matter. Recently I got myself a A2 and I am using back my old Zero DAC (the one only have optical or coaxial in).

When I start using it my speaker sometimes will produce the ZZZINNNGGG sound. It is quite irritating so I need some experts insight to help resolve this matter.

Current I'm directly using the Optical Out from my PC MOBO.

    Thank you in Advance.

    A little update.

(Original cable used 3 meter L-2T2S Canare cable)

Did a test to see if my cable was damage, tried moving the cable around while connected no distortion of noise but funny part is when every I touch my A2 volume pot, there is static sound hiss.

Question is my A2 not earth but...

(Cheapo RCA cable but right Side damage) (recommend by wwenze(vr forum) to try out)

Unable to find out much since the Right channel was dead but to my surprised the static issue I had no long appear if I am using this cheapo cable.

    (Mini Jack to Mini Jack)

Tested and working fine. No static sound when touching the A2 Vol pot.

    (Optical Out from Mobo)

(Optical Out from USB MD-port DG2)

Did a test to see if it was my Mobo Optical out causing problems

After testing both the same problem appears....

    Current Setup

    USB MD-Port DG2 --> Zero DAC --> (cable) --> A2

I am considering to try out silver cable for RCA to RCA ends... if it does not work out I might go back and change it to RCA to mini Jack.

  4. I have a few thousand files that are flac and I dun want to use a apple format in case i decide to change back to cowon or iriver.

Which means none of the ipods can be modded :( sigh. The reason why I want to move to ipod is becos of the line-out

O.o when apple converts... it creates a new file in Itunes folder...

So is like you have 2 same music files in different format...

Might as well can invest on a extra HDD lolz so can backup.

    Regards

  5. The Zero Dac is kinda cheap but don't look down on it! Give it a try at Jaben

yup give Zero DAC a try if you want something more affordable.

Heady have wrote a review on it. you should take sometime to read it up.

I am using it with some Ops amp upgrade and using a USB module optical line out.

I think brand new cost around 200 ++, this DAC has quite a few upgrade option.

  8. Dear all. It's been a long time since I am out of this sound world but recently I am thinking of getting a USB sound card to replace my notebook in built sound card.

thing is simple. I want to improve the sound quality and also due to my in built sound card has started to hiss at high pitch after half an hour on the vocals.

At this stage I have not really be able to determine the problem lies with my notebook but well. I'm thinking of improving the sound quality for quite some time and I was searching all over the net for USB sound card and only 2 brands is brought to my attention.

I've tried to search on this forum but the result has nothing I want.

So can you guys help me along with it?

Can you intro and guide me to this PC audio sound world?

There are the brands I managed to source from the net.
