It sounds superior than my previous setups, iPhone 4 + D12 (topkit) and H120 + D10 + optical. Can actually hear the added depth in sound stage and almost as clean-sounding as iRiver stack.

when will the next MO be open?

When will the MO end?

Try Funan. I saw quite a few of those showing up in the earphone shop on level 2.

I am currently testing the Go-Dap and it seems to have good synergy with my ESW9 and EW9. I may be getting a pair of CK10 to test with it if I can't get hold of EC700.
As expected, it gives a cleaner sound as coming from the 3GS's line-out. I notice a slight increase in the width of head stage. Cymbal sounds more energetic and more noticeable than before amping. Female vocal also sounds fuller. Turning the volume knob to 9 o'clock is loud enough for me. More than that and I start to hear slight sibilance.

BTW the HD25-1 ii is available in SG?
It is available but Stereo and Jaben do not seem to have ready stock, unless you wanna get the Adidas version. I think some shops in SLS may have it.

No one brought it in yet. We bought directly from EarSonics in France via online.

Hey Randius, thanks for your advice. But just before we placed our orders, Franck said that it will now be shipped by UPS Express so yup, we'll be getting UPS
cheers
Must have been too many complaints
-
No real need to email Franck. Once your order has been processed and dropped off at the post office, you will be sent an email with the tracking number. WARNING, EarSonics does not use UPS but Colissimo and Colissimo is horrible at updating the tracking status. From the moment my (ex-)SM3 left France (dunno when) till it arrived in Singapore, the status had always been "package is getting ready to leave the country of origin"... Save yourself the anguish and just note when the package is dropped off at the post office.
Delivery time is about one week.

Thought you would have gotten either the SM3 or their custom? I previously owned the SM3. I believe a couple of guys here had placed their orders.
-
Sell you UM3X and get the SM3 again?
Nope. I am keeping the UM3X and this is after I had compared them side-by-side.
-
Add me to the list, pm me regarding payment details, thanks.
havent follow up with IEMs much these days.. but do olives work with these? I got a bunch of spare unused ones for a while..
Yes, the Shure Olives work with the SM3. You can also put on other tips using the Comply core. I tried with the Monster Super tips and they worked well.
I must say 260 Euro is a pretty good price. Better still if you guys can share the shipping fee.
variazion, maybe you can write a short impression to entice more people
For me, though I had now settled with the UM3X, I will still rate SM3 better than e-Q7, MTPC and UM3X.

Seen a guy wearing the Lady Gaga version. eww....
Too bad that Stereo is selling the Monster products just as expensive as HMV.
I can never understand why must earphones be retro or pro in looks in order to be considered good-looking? Yes, classic/pro look also appeals to me but what's wrong with attention-grabbing designs? I did overhear an old couple in MRT, talking about a guy enjoying his pair of UM3X. "Poor boy, so young and wearing hearing aids already..."

Wikipedia to the rescue! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrum_analyzer
Though, a spectrum analyser is not exactly the sorta thing most people have lying around at home. Any EE folk in your family?
I think not. Found a cassette tape deck and a radio along with it. All from Sansui.
Wonder how can I integrate it into a hi-fi system...
-
I found a Sansui GR770 Spectrum Analyzer while digging for my old hi-fi system. I have no idea what it is and what it does? An online search didn't reveal much info. Can anyone enlighten me on this piece of equipment? TIA

Now I am a proud owner of the e-Q7 It didn't take long during the audition for me to decide this is the one! My initial impression is that the treble, mid and bass all integrate perfectly without the vocal being overwhelmed by the higher and lower ends. The vocal is excellent and it brings out the power when I listen to alan's songs. It also has more than sufficient bass for me to enjoy songs from AAA, UVERWorld etc. However, it has microphonics when I am merely walking. For the moment, I find the cable too stiff to wear over the ear yet. May consider getting the wire guide from Phonak to solve this. All in all, I have absolutely no regret getting it. Thanks for the suggestion

I'm using it with my n96 which isn't exactly an ideal player and it sounded wonderful. They are quite forgiving with low bit-rate songs and they do respond very well to EQ but the only thing they can't stand is bad recording. There is no doubt that an amp will improve its performance but if you are using it on the go like me, I don't see the need for the extra weight. When you go down and audition, you should also try out the Grado gr8 as well. They are using the same technology as the Ortofons and from what I can remember they do have good vocals. If memory serves me right they should cost about the same as the Ortofons. CK100 is also another contender but they cost a lot more than the e-Q7. If budget is not an issue you can head down to stereo and try them out, their treble extension is unrivaled but their mids isn't suited for everyone's taste. IMHO the e-Q7 is the best universal IEM money can buy to date.
Thank you for the recommendation. However, I like the design of e-Q7 more than the GR8
The price of CK100 is simply out of my budget. I hope I can sell my Sony Ex500 and D10 fast enough to fund the e-Q7...
-
Well think of it as TF10 but made in Japan . At $458 they are a better deal than ie8. Have you tried the 530s? If you have than that will you give you an idea of what the e-Q7 sounds like. Similar vocals but not as forward with better treble than the 530s and to my ears a larger sound-stage but that is to my ears of course.
I did audition the E530 and I like it a lot. The only gripe is with the hefty price tag...
The larger sound stage on the e-Q7 is definitely welcomed. Will an amp further improve the e-Q7's performance or only by small margin? I may need to sell my iBasso D10 on top of the EX500 in order to fund the purchase. And if it already sounds excellent without the amp, I don't see the need to carry one around.

Thanks Ben, for the suggestion. I posted the same question over at head-fi and received pretty much the same recommendation. I am curious to find out, given the perceived size of the housing, does it protrude a fair amount when worn? It almost looks like I will be stuffing two bullets in my ears

I am currently using a pair of Sony MDR-EX500 and wish to upgrade to either the Sleek Audio SA-6, Sennheiser IE8 or Phonak Audeo PFE. I had only auditioned the IE8 as the other two are not available locally. So far, I do like the sound signature of IE but the bass may be a bit powerful for my liking (even at lowest setting) I had read rave reviews on both SA6 and PFE stating they are comparable to top-tier IEMs. The fact they are available at about 1/2 price of IE8 makes them more attractive options.
I listen almost entirely Japanese pop songs and most of them featuring female vocals. Prefer wide sound stage and clear vocal. I will still prefer enough bass to listen to songs from bands like UVERWorld etc. thus Audio Technica CK10 is out. Which of the three will you guys recommend? Which one will have better synergy with the iBasso D10 amp I have? TIA

iRiver H120 + iBasso D10 + SysConcept optical cable
Most of them were fixed. Some of them (e.g. displaying of properties of ALAC files) will be fixed in next update which may probably be ready before the next shipment in mid-March.
