Have heard the um3x and shure 535. IMHO, Um3x have a really wide soundstage. Instrument seperation was great as well. But bass wasn't that punchy and strong. Overall presentation of the music was quite dull and boring to me. Also, it's very comfortable to wear it. As for shure 535, the bass was abit overpowered.. Sounded very boomy to me. Sound stage ain't as wide as um3x, instrument seperation was ok only. my 2cents.

shure 840 also quite big, and their cable is coiled 1.. so not that portable imo.

D2000 is 499 if im not wrong.. But its quite big, i don't think its portable at all. For portability wise, i think you should consider IEMS instead. ahah.

The esw9 is good in terms of sound but bad with isolation. Especially when you take bus, you can hear the engine sound and everything. lol

Sell you UM3X and get the SM3 again?
