  1. You can get some browndog adaptor to convert the SOIC into DIP. http://www.cimarrontechnology.com/index.as...WPROD&ProdID=12
  2. Nope. Just finished my exams ... awaiting for the results. But the rooms there can still be use since no one really check.
  3. I wouldn't mind a mini meet. Just let me know the time and the date.
  4. You can check with RS or Farnell. Alternatively, you can get them off Ebay or some of the members in Headfi. I might be able to let go some of my opamps, PM me what u need.
  5. No. You don't really need to. D1 allows you to change the opamp to further improve the sound. However, it is not a requirement for you to mod. The availability of opamps changes allows you to match the different genres of music with different opamp.
  6. Tried the LME49720 before .. sound quite harsh ... maybe i have to burn them in more...
  7. yup.. same here ... it sounds very harsh for the highs .. The sounds just cracks on certain recordings... Probably gonna put back my LT6234 until i finish soldering the LTC6241.
  8. Thanks for meeting up yesterday. It was fun ... rolling all those opamp. I think the LTC6241 for the DAC was the clear winner. But for L/R it will really depend on what kind of sound signature you guys are looking for. OPA627 - Dynamic, bassy and Upfront AD746 - Dynamic, less upfront compared to the OPA627 and wide soundstage, not to mention nice replication of a live classical music environment. AD797 - Upfront, balanced and musical What are the opinion from you guys?
  9. If anyone is interested, there will be a small meeting for iBasso D1 owners at NUS BTC. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=8093&st=60 Checking out some opamp configurations for the D1.
  10. If anyone is interested, there will be a small meeting for iBasso D1 owner at NUS BTC. http://www.sgheadphones.net/index.php?showtopic=8093&st=60 Checking out some opamp configurations for the D1.
  11. Public bus ... if you are taking from newton ... 48, 66, 67, 170, 171. Sure no prob. I can meet you guys there at 1pm. btw anyone gonna bring their laptop? or source?
  12. Ends at 12:30pm. We can meet after that. btw is it possible to help me solder a pair of bypass buffer for the AD797 cos i don't have any DIP8 socket. Thanks.
  13. I am attending a part time course @ the law faculty so i will be at BTC every sat morning. So just choose any sat afternoon i am fine with that. How about mini? any suitable date for you?
  14. Just soldered my a few opamp on adaptors Ad797, LMH6655, LTC6241. Previously, was using the AD825 -L/R, LME49720-Buf, LT6234 -DAC. Didn't really have the time to A/B the opamp. But i first tried swapping the LMH6655 into the Buf, louder and clearer sound compared to the LME49720. Next swap in the AD797 .. Much better separation, soundstage expanded and it feels like the singer is singing much closer to you. Next LTC6241 - unfortunately i think i didn't solder properly ... the sound coming from the right side of my earphone was soft compare to the left. Have to resolder a new LTC6241. After i decided to try the LME49720 on the DAC .... It was terrible, i felt the sound is abit compressed and muffled. Not sure whether i was affected by the LTC6241... Will do my test later on ... when i have to time ... will try to solder the OPA627, AD8066, AD8397 and the LTC6241 again. I think we can use one of the rooms in NUS Bukit Timah Campus, plus the fact that i have lessons there on sat ...
  15. Bluetin is an online store in SG. If you want to do a comparision .. you can visit Stereo @ Causeway Pt or Jaben.
  16. I got it as a present. If i am not wrong, my colleague got them from bluetin so should be $158. Quite durable ... i bring it to work everyday and AT even provide a pouch for you to keep the headphone.
  17. I am using the M50 - Flat and accurate. This pair of headphone is easily driven and foldable like the v6/7506. I am wearing spec and it is pretty comfy for me.
  18. Actually i have 2 of the 3 opamps you are waiting for except for the LT1364. Planning to use the L/R: AD797 Buffer: LMH6655 DAC: LTC6241
  19. Received my adaptors ... gonna solder my opamp soon ... also order the AD797 and OPA627... Hehe.. small Christmas present for myself.
  20. There won't be any freebies this time round since it is a one-off thing by Aron who specially made them for the people that joined the first MO. Plus i am trying to keep the price down due to the increased price by iBasso.
  21. iBasso portable DAC/AMP combo D1 is a high performance mobile audio solution. It is a Self powered DAC and Hi-Definition headphone amplifier with many input options, which includes digital inputs from optical, coaxial, USB, and analog input from AUX IN/OUT. It not only works as DAC/AMP combo, but also works as a stand-alone AMP, DAC, or USB soundcard. The DAC function in the small D1 is as good as some full size DAC. D1 has PCM2906 made by Texas Instruments to convert USB into S/PDIF signal. It uses CS8416 as a DA-receiver chip, which is known as a best DA-receiver chip, and has sampling rate from 32 to 192 KHz ability. The D/A chip is CS4398, to convert the signal to analog signal, up to 24bit/192KHz. It is Cirrus Logic's top of the line product and used in lot of high end equipments. The USB-DAC function in D1 is standout. It is a perfect gift for your computer. In the amplification part, D1 has op LT1364 + BUF two LMH6634 structure to ensure high quality music playback with 6dB gain. Also, there is DIP sockets design for opamp rolling. D1 has its dedicated MCU (Micro Controller Unit) to manager its inputs, outputs, and functions. This is an innovation on Portable DAC or Amp device. When D1 is turned on, the MCU will automatically search the inputs one by one, in sequence of (1st optical, 2nd coaxial, 3rd USB, and 4th AUX IN/OUT). Then, let the locked inputting signal goes to the chips for decoding or amplification, and the MCU will turn into sleep status at the same time. Benefit from the MCU, the port AUX IN/OUT on the front panel can have multi-function. When there is S/PDIF signal inputting, this port is Line Out, otherwise, it is Line In. Other than the DAC and AMP design, D1 still has many standout features. D1 has two built-in 2000mAh rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Even for the high power consumption DAC and AMP design, D1 still can work approximate to 20 hours for the combo, or 40 hours for the stand-alone amplification. D1 has built-in current and charge management chip to protect batteries, and have fast charger ability. Only 5 hours is needed to charge the 2000 mAh batteries. Low voltage indicator technology, power lamp will flash when the battery needs to be charged. Also, D1 has high quality aluminum case with 4mm thick front panel, countersinking, and laser printing. The following are some main specifications of D1 version 2. - PCM2906, convert USB into a S/PDIF signal - CS8416, DA-receiver chip - CS4398, D/A chip, one of Cirrus Logic's Flagship Chips - OP+BUF structure for amplification, LT1364+Two LMH6643 - Dedicated MCU (Micro Controller Unit) to manager inputs, outputs, and functions. - Flexible input and output compatibility. It has USB, optical, coaxial, stereo input, line out, and stereo output - Works as a combo or a stand-alone AMP, DAC, USB soundcard - Built-in two 2A rechargeable Li-ion batteries, plays up to 40 hours (40 hrs for AMP, or 20hrs for combo) - Measures 78*32*120mm, and weights only 320g Comes with: genuine leather case, high quality optical cable, USB cable, coaxial cable, AC adapter (110V~240V). This is the new version of D1. iBasso has changed the L/R opamp to LT1364, and BUF is LMH6643. Also, iBasso uses the LTC6241 to be the LPF of DAC. This combination has greater output power and less THD. In sum, the sound is better than before. 22. Is it going to be at Razer's place or NUS's Cinnamon room?
  23. Can try the ATH-M50 which is foldable like the v7506. Accurate and smooth sounding but bass not punchy more like controlled. It was said that it sounds like the A700.
