Hello everyone, just thought I'd try and ask here if there were any good solutions.
Okay, so after getting my JH5's, getting music amped by both a Graham Slee Voyager and a RSA Hornet (on low gain) was too loud - and going below that volume would mean a L/R channel imbalance.
Are there any solutions to reducing the volume BESIDES switching to an amp of lower gain? (This would be my last option to consider because I really like the Hornet's sound).
Hopefully any suggestions wouldn't lead to coloration of sound too.
I tried using the Volume Adjustment for all songs in iTunes to -100% gain, but turns out the line out really does bypass every changes made to volume. i.e. it didn't work.
Thanks in advance.
The Line Out Dock bypasses the ipod volume so the controls will under the amp. So try to play around with the volume knob first.

The guys here have no idea what the J-Sta is, I'm keeping it only at Headphiles for the moment.
Ok. Those are the mystery headphones that I fell for.

naaa not a fan of them....have you seen the XB1000's daaamn lol
thinking just to get the mdr-7520's
The XB1000 can be a good contender. The bass hits rock bottom for dubstep, with the expansive soundstage. You can also take a look at the Aiaiai Tracks which are intended for those genres

I am new to the forum.
Just recently got back home from SG with a Just Audio uHA-120. I chose because of how neutral the amp is.
Very happy owner of this little amp. I was being given in Jaben the Graham Slee Voyager yet for some reason the coloration was to thick for me.
My player is ok without amp. But I like how the uHA cleans/filters peaky frequencies.
I set the Gain switch to Low Setting since I am using low impedance hp, the Philips SHP895 and the J-Sta.

I am on headphiles.org. So you can point me the threads you saw the woods from. There are 2 wood makers currently in the loop - 1 is PrawnCracker which makes 'em from mahogany wood, and Kerwinsee that uses ironwood.
If i am to convert price, the woods will be less S$100 a pair.
Headbands are also available. DIYed leather goodness. You can choose what type of leather you want too, depends on availability.
