    Selling this fantastic amplifier due to upgrade (to a tube amp, finally).

     

    I've had quite a few headphone amplifiers including some very good ones (V200, Soloist, X-Can V8p, m903, HP-A8 ...), the Merier CLASSIC has to be the most neutral, transparent and detailed amplifier among them all. I really love how it produces very neutral, transparent, clean and "out of the way" sound. Very good to show the sound/capability of your headphones and sources (DACs), and it lets you to hear what the original musics were recorded as they were.

     

    But if you do like to have some tune adjustment, the CLASSIC give you the option to add (two levels of) bass tune to your like. It also has two level of crossfeed filters for you to enhance the sound effect. You can read a lot more about what crossfeed is about here at Merier's website:

    For its size, this amp can give out some serious power for all kinds of headphones:

    Output impedance

    Maximum output 15V / 500 mA.

    At 600 Ohm: 160 mW / channel

    At 300 Ohm: 320 mW / channel

    At 50 Ohm: 1.9 W / channel

    At 30 Ohm: 3.2 W / channel

     

    With an almost zero ohm output impedance, the amp will work well with pretty much any headphones, be it hard to drive ones, or very sensitive IEMs. I've tried K3003, FX850, RS1, TH900, ED8, HE560, HD800 and T1, they all sound fantastic with this amp with zero background noise.

     

    The amp is also very well made, it's pretty compact for what it is capable of. I would have kept it if I didn't go for a tube amp.

     

    The amp was bought just over two years ago, so the warranty is just over. But I'd give one week personal warranty as usual. It's in fantastic condition as shown in photos, and it still comes w/ the original box (which is just a simple carton box):

    The original cost was 512EURO plus shipping and import tax which add up to almost 1000SGD:
