  1. Hi all Something just to share with you all. A 2-in-1 beauty, as descripted in the title. - Frequency Response 10 to 40K +/- 1 dB - S/N >= 90dB - Distortion <= 0.3% - Output power >= 1W (30 ohm) - Match headphone impedance from 10 to 600 ohm
  2. Many thanks to all of you. Have not see the SL-CT790, ONLY saw SL-CT700, CT800. Okay, will try to find it. SAW the SL-CT810 last weekend at Sim Lim Tower (not square), 6mW+6mW. It support WMA format. Cosmetic wise is beautiful (Black), make in Japan. Selling at about S$250 also. Tried to seach on the net, looks like there is some improvement, not sure. Yes, I am listening with the old Technics PCDP, very enjoying. Good bass, vocal is sweet, not so good on the high side. Once on, is hard to stop listening. But the PCDP is not mine, have to return to the owner one fine day. Therefore I am searching one for myself. Will try to post the image of the amp ASAP.
  3. Long story about the tube head amp. First: I got the Philips HP890. Second: I found my AC3.2 cdp has no headphone out. Third: Nobody will recomment me to buy a head amp at about $500-$600 for HP890. Fouth: Start to look for cheap head amp. Fifth: Found one, headphone amp cum pre-preamp, really low price, but I have nothing to compare the sound quality. I have taken some picture on it, will try to post it soon. (actually I don't know how to put picture in this forum yet) I don't mind to share this head amp with you guys outthere, to see how is this amp. I need you guys to help to set this thing up. I am currently using a Technics old model pcdp, (borrow from my brother in-law) can't remember which model.
  4. Thanks for all advises. Then how? Looks like no pcdp is worth amping, no player for my tube amp? Sad leh. I hope nobody will ask me to connect it to a PC Sound card.
  5. I already bought a tube hp amp. I really want to make use of it. Since D777 head out is better then line-out, can I connect the head out to hp amp?
  6. Not that I don't consider, I can't. My office is open concept, 1- I can't disturb my colleague. 2- I will be fired if my boss see this thing on desk. 3- Prefer tube amp. Anybody using Panasonic SL-CT800 with headphone amp? How is it?
  7. Hi Fuwen My headphone amp is not battery operated, so I can't use it on the move. Mainly I want to have a system in my work place, but I don't want to have a huge cdp on my working desk. Therefore I would like to consider a pcdp, and I can use the pcdp (w/o amp) on the move as well. A portable amp may be considered later.
  8. I need a reasonably good pcdp to go with my new babes (tube headphone amp cum pre-amp). Sony D-NE1, NE10, EJ2000 or Philips AX7201 any advise out there?
  9. wow !! am impress.... You ppl really open my mind. My budget is about $600. I guess could do nothing below this. But not now, perhaps in 3 months time. I will try to understand more about the Cayin. BTW, I saw the X-CAN v3 in town. Any review yet? This is a very good site to learn about listening via headphone. I love vocal, I also listen to classic, opera and jazz.
  10. Thanks to Rsmeish and Lengcm. I am new in listening throught headphone, this is my first time having a headphone. I use it on my Philips DVD player, audio 24bit/96K, I hear things that not appear on my system. That is why thought of connecting it to my system. I hear ppl keep complain that it is not worth to invest a amp for it, but I don't know why? Because it is cheap?
  11. Hi, everybody out there My MF A3.2 CDP and Alchemist Int. Amp does not has any headphone output. How can I connect my Philips HP890 headphone to the system? Is it possible without a headphone Amp? My Int. Amp. has a pre-out. Thank you.
