  1. Here we go again.

Back by popular demand and I'm taking new orders for the Sharp MD33s. Depending on the number of people buying, EMS shipping costs will vary, but total cost with headphones included will not be more than $60. I am looking at the region of SGD$55~

Payment by POSB transfer please. =]

    Interestees, kindly reply.

    Hi

I maybe interested. Is it possible to provide any personal short reviews or comparison since you'd bought one earlier? How is it compare the other in-ears like Sony EX71, etc? Thanks

  2. Got it last year as a gift, only opened to test and battery charged once only. As been using my reliable ipod instead.

Well recommended as a pdcp here and elsewhere, can do a search here for more info. Besides good sound quality, very nice looking and slim as well.

    Here's the specs:

Selling at only $180, PM your details.

  3. Mackie should be able to answer you regarding the CT790. Heard that it sounds great with the bass boost on, but thinner without. Pretty smooth sounding, but expensive.

For portable use, a META42/PIMETA amp should do the job, or maybe the PCII N@Z is selling, if not the Supermicro. Earbus have been discussed before, some of the Aiwa models, Senn MX500, or if you don't mind canalphones, Shure E2/3/5 or Etymotics ER-6/4P/S. Many say that the ER-4S + META42 = Portable Bliss...

Could someone care to do a brief rundown what's a META, PIMETA, META42, MINT META etc to a newbie? Tried to do a search here and got confused more. Thanks.

  4. I'm being using it for less than a month.I found the volume quite soft.Maybe I'm going deaf soon, but i need at least 20/25 for a decent volume on PX200.

    The bass/train/live all sucks!

Just a normal sound coming out from the jack sound great though.I still love my old panasonic sx410.

    My 2 cents worth

why every1 entire range of volume is 30?mine only up to 25...

Can share where and how much you'd bought yours? TKs.

  5. Thank you all for the previous suggestions. I'm thinking of getting the currently available 790 after some futile hunt for older sonys. Please comment on the sound quality, from more users please? Also which shop to buy and the price?

Also, please recommend a good combo of earbuds and amp with this pcdp that serve you well with good SQ.

    Thank you for your patience.

  6. Thank you all for your insightful and quick replies, it's great to have responsive forumers here. And pardon me for this noob question.

From my very limited 'hifi' experience, amping a source usually produces better SQ, and good SQ is my first criteria. My second and equally important criteria is semi-portability as this is intended to use in the office. So far, i'm still considering a normal cdp (bulky), to mini-hifi (denon dm31 is well reviewed, but not sure of the headphone out, anyone has any experience?), and to pcdp. Once I had straightened out all this, I'll then geta suitable cans for that system. I hope that is a logical approach wacko.gif

  7. I just popped by the shop in Adelphi. It's not called Unicorn anymore at least not on the door. But same address #02-33.

The Tivoli Model 1 costs about S$210, and the Tivoli PAL costs about S$320+ (forgot exactly).

Really like the PAL for its portability and designer cool looks, but frankly its a bomb for its limited functions.

Tivoli Model 1 looks more affordable. Except you need to plug it somewhere.

Wonder if we consolidate our orders, we can bargain for a better deal?

    Anyone got kangtow?

Sounds good, count me in at the moment. How about the Tivoli cdp? Anybody has comments on their cdp? Thanks.

  8. You can always check out the tivoli system + a low impedance headphones to suit the type of music you listen too. BTW what kind of music do you listen too most often?.

Thanks headphonecrazy, was searching around and saw your posts here and other forums on the tivoli. Have you got one yourself? Btw, wat is low-impedance headphones and recommendations?

Me usually listen to pop, rock, class 95 and power 98 type music...for background while working. But music quality should be good or at least decent.

  9. Hi All

I'm a total newbie to cans headphone.gif so please go easy on me. Would appreciate any advice on a good-sounding, compact integrated amp+cdp+radio for office use (compact in a sense that it can be placed in a corner so that boss would not noticed it), something like Linn Classik?? (but way too ex for me). Also recommend a headphone to go along with this. My budget is no more than a grand? Possible? If not can stretch a bit by building up over a time period?

    Thanks guys. biggrin.gif
