weychin 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2009 Hi 20BAbies ! Might I suggest Meier MOVE3 ? It has a mini USB out. It has a quiet background. The DAC is Burr brown 2702, I think. Can be powered by either the computer, amp itself or a AC/DC adapter.
Guest dragonboy Report post Posted August 1, 2009 $1k... top abit, I can buy SPL Auditor You're right... but the SPL auditor isn't portable. Hmmm i don think a portable DAC/Amp is really worth $1000.. cos i used to own iQube v1 and although the sound is good the price is not worth it.. as someone said earlier i think a cheap and very worthwhile alternative would be the ibasso D10.. can roll opamps somemore for that perfect sound you looking for =) I agree that the ibasso D10 is a value for money amp... but in terms of performance, accuracy, detail, it's still a far cry from the iqube. I'll say most budget amps add an extra dynamics or oomph to let you hear the immediate improvement in volume and bass. But IMO, it causes ear fatigue. The iqube would be something I'll like to listen for hours and hours...
