zirconium 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Hi, I'm new here as you can see from my number of posts. I need some recommendations for a earpiece ..not those 'over-the-ear' kinds. Seen many recommendations around but i'm still not sure what to get. My budget is <$100 or so. I play in a band so clarity is a must. Here are some info's that hopefully can help with the recommendation - Play electric guitar - Listens to blues/pop/rock/mainstream - Listens with my samsung jet whenever taking public transport Does my phone affect the sound too? I'm using samsung jet. Anyway, I was looking at hardwarezone forum and saw some people selling these earphones.. what do u guys think about it? - SONY MDR-EX300SL Earphone - Soundmagic PL50 Armature IEM - Sennheiser CX 400 II In-Ear Earphone Precision Black - Bose Triport Ie Earphones Any other recommendations would be good too. I hope I provided enough info Thanks! *Or should i get an MDR-EX500SL for $80+ second hand? Edited April 12, 2010 by zirconium
triumph 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 over the ear design can help SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the mircophonics issue. microphonics issue refers to the irritating sound you hear when the earphone cables hit your body when you are walking, or whenever you're moving. it will be good to get a pair of earphones with 1 year warranty. from past experience, i find mainstream earphones' cables to die on me pretty fast. sound's always missing from one side. i guess my negligence is at fault too. to assure your purchase, get one with at least 1 year warranty. ryanaks 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 U can try goin to Jaben, they are quite good at recommending earphones. Anyways, i've tried the cx 400 before. Personally i prefer the hippo vb over it as well as the nuforce series. Try to give these set or earpieces a run, they're pretty good for their price, $99. Hope this helps. Guest dragonboy Report post Posted April 13, 2010 The nuforce NE8 seems to suits you fine. Of course it'll be better if u can audition it yourself... Jaben... Stereo Plaza Sing / Causeway Point .... you try and decide it yourself. They are normally not pushy in sales and leave you alone. But yes, over-the-ears will reduce the microphonics when u walk...... very irritating sometimes.
bpribadi 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2010 *Or should i get an MDR-EX500SL for $80+ second hand? MDR-EX500SL has a 'smiley' sounds characteristic. Smiley means like you see equalizer set with bass and treble boosted, creating a smiley curve. The bass is very big, and boomy, the treble is also too much for me, and very prone to sibilance. I suggest you try it first, to hear if it is suit your taste. My2cents.
